A large area of the south-east of Cumbria is within The Yorkshire Dales National Park, while the east of the county fringes the North Pennines, classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Carlisle is the only City in Cumbria. It is the most northerly City in England and roughly 8 miles from the Scottish border.
