Home from home, pet friendly holiday lodge on Port Haverigg Holiday Village, benefitting from Wi-Fi, double glazing, central heating and sea views.

Being set in a quiet, relaxing area on the edge of RSPB reserve, you can wake up to the sound of gulls and the sea, and enjoy beautiful walks nearby – it’s truly a place for rejuvenation.

Our privately owned, dog friendly holiday lodge on Port Haverigg Holiday Village, provides everything you need to enjoy a relaxing break away from your busy life. The lodge is situated on the west coast of Cumbria surrounded by beautiful views of the lake, sea and mountains. It is a walkers paradise and we therefore accept two well behaved dogs.

The lodge has 3 bedrooms (sleeping up to 6), with 3 twin bedrooms. In the main bedroom however, the single beds are close together and can easily be used as a double.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a full size freezer and fridge; dishwasher and washing machine (dishwasher tablets, washing powder and cleaning products are supplied); along with all essentials, including a toaster and tableware. The dining room has an extending table and 6 chairs.

Within the living room is a Smart TV and electric fire, along with a corner suite, one armchair and one tub chair, making it the perfect place to rest and relax.

The lodge has 2 bathrooms, one of which is a Jack and Jill to the main bedroom, with a shower and toilet, and the other with a bath with shower over and a toilet.

The lodge has patio doors opening up to an enclosed decking which stretches from the main door to the front of the lodge allowing you to eat outside on the outdoor table and chairs or sit in the sun on the outdoor cushioned seating.

Gas and electric is included.

Beds are made up ready for your arrival, with duck down duvets and pillows. Towels and tea towels are also included. Please bring your own towels for the beach and swimming pool.

A variety of board games and books are available in the lodge, along with a BBQ in a storage shed outside.

The pricing is per night, commencing from any night. There is a minimum of 2 nights policy at the lodge, to as many as you wish.

A £50 booking deposit is required to secure your dates. Please note that this is non-refundable if you have to cancel.

Location

What is there to do?

Port Haverigg Holiday Village itself houses water sports on the lake, including an inflatable labyrinth (prices not included), fly fishing and a play park for children. The RSPB Hodbarrow Nature Reserve just a 5 minute walk away (a dog walkers paradise).

Enjoy an action packed break away with the new on site Aqua park; take a challenging climb up one of the mountain peaks; relax on one of the many local beaches; or take an invigorating walk around the many local nature reserves, seeing flora and fauna in season, birds of prey and other wildlife.

Then enjoy wonderful home cooked food at the Ratty Arms pub, or a lovely meal at the park’s Ski Bar after an exhilarating hour on the aqua park. Or maybe relax with a hearty Sunday carvery at The Bear in the square.

Only a 15 minutes drive away is one of our personal favourite beaches at Silecroft. The unique village of Ulverston is just a 40 minute drive, with lots of lovely places to eat (we suggest trying Naaz, an Indian cuisine).

Lake Coniston is a 50 minute drive away and Lake Windermere just over an hour. Or if you prefer a quieter lake, then Wast Water is only 50 minute from the park.

If you like trains and the railway, Ravenglass is a great place to go within only a 30 minute drive, and a great pub we recommend; The Ratty Arms and a small gauge steam railway. Millom also has a train station going from Preston to Carlisle via Whitehaven; this, we find, is a lovely train ride, with Carlisle being a great place to shop and Whitehaven having a great harbour for crabbing and also several streets of shops both unique and chain. Barrow is a 50 minute drive and a fantastic place to go for shopping, it has its own market and theatre which is worth checking out.

If you just enjoy a ride out or looking at breath taking mountainous views there is The Hardknott Pass or The Wrynose Pass, both of which are beautiful, or if you're feeling more energetic try climbing the Scafell Pike which is less than an hours drive away. Or have a round of golf at Silecroft or try out the heavy horses with a gallop on the beach.

Where are some great places to eat?

Millom has a wide selection of different cuisines; Indian, Chinese, Fish and Chips etc. Da Vinci Restaurant is highly recommended. We also recommend Naaz at Ulverston and The Ratty Arms at Ravenglass, as previously mentioned. If you like steak the Punch Bowl at The Green should not be missed.

These are only a few suggestions and there will be many more leaflets and recommendations in the Lodge upon your stay.
