Set on the beautifully landscaped La Carabasse at Vias Plage, our holiday home (Village 36) is within an easy walk of the beach, on-site swimming pools, evening entertainment, bars and restaurants.

Our 3 bedroom, 8 berth mobile home on La Carabasse is perfect for a great self-catering holiday in the south of France.

The nearest town is Vias, which is a pretty place to visit with a market on Wednesday and Saturday (Summer months) and a number of lovely restaurants. You could also drive to Agde (15 minutes away), which is a slightly bigger town. Both are great places to explore and are even within easy cycling distance.

The Canal du Midi is on your doorstep, offering more activities such as boating, cycling, walking. There is a lot to do in the area, especially with the beach being only a 10 minute walk from your mobile home!

The mobile home itself is spacious, well lit, bright and comfortable. Along with the 3 bedrooms it has a shower room, separate toilet, lounge, kitchen and dining area.

Facilities include a TV, fully plumbed in washing machine, full size fridge/freezer, gas oven/hob, microwave and kettle, together with all kitchen utensils.

There is parking for one car on the driveway of the mobile home.

We provide duvets and pillows; you just need to bring your bed linen and towels. Alternatively, for a small extra charge these can be hired on site direct from Siblu.

What’s in the Caravan?

. Satellite TV - Our UK-FreeSat TV (and DVD player) have all the English terrestrial channels you’ll want as well kids' BBC channels etc.
. Fridge - there is water, orange juice, wine and beer waiting for you in the fridge!
. Microwave - this is English and there is also a regular oven for your use
. Washing Machine - we’ve highlighted the best programme with a red smiley sticker, but feel free to experiment yourselves! There are two large fold up/out clothes hangers in the shed.

. Air conditioning - the air conditioning system is very efficient and will cool down the caravan very quickly. The control is slotted into a pouch to the right of the front door.

. BBQ - this can be found in the flagged area next to the shed, close to the caravan; just move it to where you like. It is a large gas bar-b-que and the gas cylinder will be provided free of charge.

. Shed - in the shed you'll find body boards, buckets and spades and assorted beach paraphernalia etc. which are all to the right hand side. We have adult and children's bikes for your use too, which can be locked up outside using the bike locks provided.

. Lovely decking area with good sized dining table and 6 chairs with canopy that covers two thirds of the deck, a sun lounger and also a swing seat with canopy.

Our rates are from Saturday to Saturday, but we do try to be flexible over certain dates – please call Eamonn on either on the above number to get a definite price.
Location

The beautifully landscaped La Carabasse Holiday Park at Vias Plage has many facilities on site, including a new supermarket (bear right past Reception about 40 yards) which is run by ‘Casino’. They now have a lot of choice at reasonable prices and there is fresh bread and croissants baked during the day. The Butchers is also very good value and sells freshly made BBQ food as well as hot chicken and chips and other deli-style things.

You can also head out left out of La Carabasse and go about 300 yards (over the roundabout) and you’ll find the local Spar supermarket. Please be aware that the larger French supermarkets do NOT supply free plastic bags to carry your shopping. There is a larger supermarket with a far greater selection of stuff (Hyper U) on the way to Cap D’Agde.
Other on site facilities include tennis courts, a multi-sports pitch, boules pitch, table tennis, children's play areas, bike hire and Wi-Fi access. There are 3 good FREE kids’ clubs at La Carabasse Parc too: Bubbles (1-4s); Pirate Club (5-9s); Barracudas (10-14s) - it’s a quick way for children to make friends.
"Fun passes" will need to be purchased at Reception for the children's clubs and/or the pool areas.

Where to Go & Where to Eat

There are 2 bars at La Carabasse - one at the front of the Parc called L’Atoll, which also has nice restaurant and is very child friendly. Most of the English families congregate at L’Atoll bar for Happy Hour between 7pm and 8pm and then go out to eat or go back to their caravans and BBQ the night away!

The Archipel bar is at the pool area which has fast-food outlets to the side (pizza, burger chips etc.). The evening entertainment takes place on the stage in front of the pool area. Your mobile home, Village 36, is behind the stage, but you’re far enough away so you shouldn’t be able to hear much noise. The entertainment finishes at 12 midnight prompt.

Other restaurants can be found on the road just past the Spar supermarket on either side. You’ll also find lots of other clothes shops and little outlets selling all sorts of holiday paraphernalia!

L’Amandine is the best restaurant in Vias and is run by Gillian and Pascal. Gillian is a lovely friendly lady from Northern Ireland and Pascal is a terrific French chef. It is child friendly and lovely to sit outside (especially on Friday nights when there is a music event in the town square). It is understandably very popular so it’s best to book a table.

Market days in Vias are Wednesday and Saturday from 9.30 am -1 pm and it does get very busy so it’s not always easy to park your car unless you get there early.

The Beach

Turn left outside La Carabasse and you can walk directly to Farinette beach - about a 10 minute walk . You'll enjoy a stroll along the newly upgraded promenade area with nice bars, shops and restaurants leading down to the lovely Chiringuito's bar and restaurant on the sea front.

You can also reach the beach through the gate at the back of the campsite in the right hand corner, but you will need to ask at Owners' Reception for the security code for the gate.

Other Activities

You can take a stroll or bike ride down the Canal du Midi (turn right out of La Carabasse). The old town of Vias is just a 5 minute drive away (12 minute walk). The medieval city of Carcassone is a 45 minute drive. The picturesque towns of Beziers and Sete are a 25 minute drive (Sete has miles and miles of empty beaches). The lovely city of Montpellier is only 40 minutes away and has great shops! Cap D’agde (15 minute drive) has a beautiful harbour surrounded by lovely seafood restaurants. For accurate directions please ask at Reception.

There is a also the busy Europark funfair close to La Carabasse, which may be worth a visit. Turn right out of La Carabasse and it’s 150 yards on your left.
