Lodge Description

Dancing Seagulls is our six berth holiday lodge for hire on the centrally located Lower Hyde Holiday Park in Shanklin, Isle of Wight .

2026 is our second letting season and we are very proud to have had a successful first year in 2025, we have had lots of lovely reviews and comments from our guests. The lodge is still our holiday home out of season so the lodge benefits from lots of home comforts making it a real home from home.

Our lodge is situated on a large, quiet plot surrounded by grass, with a tree lined public footpath nearby for a woodland walk to Aldi or Morrisons.

It has a larger footprint than a caravan and measures 40ft x 20ft, so inside is spacious and comfortable with free standing furniture.

There are two fitted double bedrooms, with the master bedroom having a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite with shower. Duvets and pillows are provided, along with freshly laundered bed linen.

A comfortable double sofa bed in the lounge provides an additional bed, so the lodge will sleep six guests.

The family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, a hand basin and WC.

A utility room has a washing machine, plus space for hanging coats and leaving shoes.

The main living area is open plan and incorporates a dining area, lounge and kitchen. The lounge benefits from a Smart TV, DVD player and Bluetooth ceiling speakers.

Wi-fi is provided - up to 80gb per week. Any additional data can be provided at an additional cost.

The kitchen is fully equipped, to include an oven, grill, microwave, dishwasher, pod coffee machine and integrated fridge-freezer. All pots, pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery are provided.

Outside is a wrap-around decking, complete with outdoor chairs and table.

The lodge is double glazed and is insulated to residential standard, and offers gas central heating and an electric fire in the lounge.

Please be aware that there are four steps at the front of lodge up from the ground to the decking, so this may be unsuitable for guests with mobility issues.

There is private parking space for two cars at the side of the lodge.

We provide a welcome pack on arrival.

Our booking week is Saturday to Saturday this season making it easier for families with school age children to book a week. Discounted ferry crossings with Wightlink are available, subject to availability on the ferry. These bookings are limited in number by Wightlink so early booking gives a better chance of securing discounted travel.

Outside of school holidays we can be flexible with dates of letting, please enquire for availability and prices.

Location

Lower Hyde Holiday Park offers full holiday park facilities and together with its adjoining sister park, Landguard, offers the use of four swimming pools, two outdoor and two indoor.

There's also two bars with evening entertainment, two cafés/restaurants, children’s play areas, bike hire and various footpaths from the site.

All facilities are within easy walking distance of the lodge.

Leisure passes to access the facilities are available from the site reception. The cost of these in 2025 was £21 per person for 7 days, a little less for children. Activities can be booked on-site when a leisure pass is purchased. We do not include these in the price of the lodge hire, as this enables guests to choose what they wish to pay for.

Shanklin station is opposite the park entrance, with Lidl next to the entrance.

Our lodge on Lower Hyde Holiday Park, is well located to allow you to explore the beautiful Isle of Wight and enjoy the many attractions and wonderful walks the Island has to offer.

Terms & Conditions

Bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions:

The owners reserve the right to refuse a booking without giving any reason.
The owners advise you take out holiday insurance as you feel appropriate.

Payment for Accommodation
A contract between you and the owner will come into existence when the deposit or full payment is received, and a booking confirmation is issued
The deposit is fully refundable until 12 weeks before the holiday commencement date.
The full payment must be made within 8 weeks of the holiday commencement date.
If cancellation is made between 8 weeks and 4 weeks of the holiday commencement date 50% of the full payment will be refunded.
If cancellation is made between 4 weeks and the date of commencement of the holiday there will be no refund.
All cancellations must be notified in writing and once received we will confirm the cancellation.

Security Deposit
A £150 security deposit is payable at the same time as the full balance.
When the property has been checked after departure by us or our representatives and the key has been returned to the key safe, this deposit is fully refundable.

Ferry Bookings
Ferry bookings will be confirmed when full payment of the ferry cost is paid.
Ferry crossing payment can be refunded if cancelled up to the date of outward travel less a £10 admin fee.

Government Restrictions/Other Circumstances
If our property must close due to Government restrictions, or circumstances beyond our control, then we will refund the payments made to us for this holiday.

Occupancy
The maximum number of persons occupying this property must not exceed six people and only those listed on the booking form can occupy the property
Please be advised that no overnight visitors are allowed to stay at the property
Bookings cannot be accepted from parties of people under the age of eighteen years.
We or our representatives reserve the right to enter the property for essential maintenance, repairs or inspection purposes
Tenancies commence at 3pm on the day of arrival and terminate at 10 am on the day of departure.

Simple House Rules
We want you to relax and enjoy your stay but we have a few guidelines that we ask you to observe for the comfort and safety of yourself and our property.
 Smoking/vaping and pets are not allowed in the property.

 BBQs are not allowed on the decking

 Damages and breakages- please treat the property with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them, after you have left.

 If there has been any damages or breakages during your stay, please let us know immediately so we can take the appropriate action.

 Please do not move any indoor furniture, furnishings or bed linen outside.

 Please lock the door, close the windows when the property is unoccupied.

 Bath and hand towels are provided, please do not take them to the beach or swimming pools, please use your own beach towels for this purpose.

 Domestic electric vehicle chargers or extension leads to charge your car are not suitable for use at this property and are strictly forbidden.

 Please report any problem or complaint to us, to allow us the opportunity to rectify any issues.


Legal Terms and Conditions/Damages/Liability

We know that damages can occur accidentally, however, should there be damage for whatever reason these are our terms and conditions to cover these eventualities.
 If damage occurs and the owners must cancel or refund subsequent bookings the owners may bring a claim against you for any loss arising as a result.

 The owners reserve the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the guests leave the property in an unacceptable condition.

 The owners shall not be liable to you or your holiday party for loss or damage to property however arising.

 The guests may in no circumstances re-let or sublet the property.

 We reserve the right to terminate your rental agreement with immediate effect where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking (or their guests) may impair the comfort or enjoyment of others. You will be asked to leave the property, without a refund of any rental paid.
