The county of Worcestershire is bordered by Shropshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands to the north, Warwickshire to the east, Gloucestershire to the south, and Herefordshire to the west. The city of Worcester is the county town.
Worcestershire is largely a rural county with the River Severn flowing through the centre from north to south. The south west area of the county contains part of the Malvern Hills, a National Landscape which contains Worcestershire Beacon. To the south east is a small part of the Cotswolds, and in the north west is part of the Wyre Forest, a national nature reserve
It is also home to several historical canals, including the Worcester & Birmingham Canal, the Staffs & Worcester Canal and the Droitwich Canal
