Caravan Description
Our air conditioned mobile home is a 40m2 IRM Emeraude with 2 bedrooms, catering for 4 to 6 people, located on a fully private and enclosed, sunny pitch.
As you enter our pitch our mobile home has a typical French feel, with its wooden shutters and climbing roses, passion flower and jasmine surrounding the covered, wooden terrace. It is unique in style and the sunny, wooden terrace gives it a very homely feel and is very pleasant on bright summer mornings, particularly as the main bedroom opens out onto it!
The main bedroom is spacious with en-suite (wash hand basin and toilet), large wardrobes and overhead cupboards for added storage space. The twin bedroom has two full size single beds, a single wardrobe and over-bed cupboards. In the lounge is a sofa bed making up to the six bed accommodation.
There is a separate bathroom with a shower and toilet.
Duvets and pillows are provided; linen and towels can be hired on site or you can bring your own.
The bright modern kitchen is of a good size; easy to use with full size fridge freezer and a recently added a 10 place setting dishwasher. Other facilities include a microwave, electric slow cooker, small electric rotisserie oven, gas oven with gas hob, toaster, electric kettle and cafetière.
The lounge has a large panoramic window, which makes the room very bright. There is a 28" LCD TV with UK Freesat box (Sky digibox without a card) giving access to most UK, free to air TV and radio stations. There is also a Blue-ray DVD player along with an iPod speaker system for your use.
Not included in the hire price, but available to use (free of charge but at own risk) are two bicycles on the basis that any damage (including punctures) that may occur to the bikes whilst in the care of renters must be rectified before the end of the letting period.
Outside there is a Weber gas BBQ and a small charcoal BBQ for enjoyable outdoor dining during your stay. There is also a dining table and 6 chairs. The private, sunny garden has 2 patio tables, 2 sun loungers and 2 relaxer chairs with a parasol.

About the Area
Les CharmettesLes Charmettes is a 4 star holiday park and a perfect destination for your family holiday. It is situated about 400m from the village of Les Mathes (with small supermarket, bakery, doctor, Post Office) and 4km outside the seaside village of La Palmyre, which is fully accessible along cycle paths.
Les Charmettes activities and facilities include a supermarket with their own daily fresh bread and croissants, a restaurant, large poolside bar, pizzeria, pancake restaurant, takeaway, launderette and hair salon. There is also a covered heated pool with Jacuzzi as well as outdoor pools with water slides and a paddling pool; all supervised by fully qualified lifeguards.
There are many activities for allm including bike hire, 5 tennis courts, mini-golf, pétanque, billiards, playgrounds, football, volleyball, archery, fitness, sport activities and organised games. There are children’s clubs (0 to 14 years) for many ages supervised by group leaders.
There is evening entertainment in the large Equinox hall most evenings and a cosy pub with pool tables and a small amusement area to entertain the children.
Out & About
The seaside village of La Palmyre has many shops, cafés, restaurants and bakeries, along with a small port and beautiful golden sandy beaches. The La Palmyre zoo is a great day out for all the family. It is 5km from Les Charmettes and is accessible along cycle paths from the park.
There are two golf courses in the area, La Palmyre - a 9 hole golf course located opposite the zoo and Royan Golf Club - an 18 hole course located just outside Saint Palais sur Mer.
There are several local villages worth visiting too, such as the village of Saint Palais sur Mer (about 10km from the park and accessible through forest lined cycle paths), Royan which is the largest town of the area (14km away) and Mornac sur Seudre (10 minute drive) - a small village with lots of shops.
There are lots of activities for children such as quad biking, Indian Forest Adventure Park (check the website), Youpiland for the very young and Luna Park to name but a few.
Les Charmettes makes for an all-round, great family holiday with many families coming back to the park year after year.
