About the Area

Glan-y-Mor is an excellent site for all ages. There is a pretty enclosed bay and a stream running through to the sea; ideal for families to play games at low tide or explore the many rock pools.

The clubhouse has a restaurant and bar serving a good choice of adult and children's meals, plus an automated bowling alley (bookable). Also on the ground floor is a heated, free form swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and cardio-vascular gym. Upstairs is a large soft play area with seating for adults; an ideal alternative for those possible rainy days! There are several amusement machines in the arcade area and pool tables.

In the school holidays there are children's clubs with many activities included. In season, there are various forms of entertainment in the evenings, including bingo, visiting artistes and live music.

There is a small shop in the Reception area selling many basic needs, newspapers, beach items etc. About 500 yards away there is larger shop, fast food outlets and a children's amusement playground.

The site has all the facilities listed above, but for more information visit the website for Glan-y-Mor.

Clarach Bay is close to Aberystwyth, which can be reached at low tide or from over the coastal footpath, alternatively about 15 minutes by car. The town also has an amazing choice of varied eateries, pubs and an American Diner as well as tea and coffee houses and ice cream parlours.

Aberystwyth has the (original) University building on the promenade, a cinema, theatre and many quirky gift shops. For keen fishermen, there are many boat trips organised to enjoy this sport, plus a trout stream on site.

There is a wealth of scenic walks/drives in the locality, a variety of beautiful beaches within 15/20 minutes drive and other quaint and enchanting old fishing towns a little further away.

Borth and Ynyslas, with a huge beach and sand dunes, are very close by.

Aberaeron and New Quay make a lovely day out and you may see the dolphins in the bay. Boat trips are available for fishing and pleasure, and there are many lovely restaurants.

Not far away is The Red Kite Centre with its regular feeding times and amazing mountain bike trails, Devils Bridge Steam Railway, pretty Aberdovey and Machynlleth with its street market every Wednesday and lovely walks in the surrounding countryside, many with waterfalls en route.

There is so much to choose from you are spoilt for choice. This really is an excellent area from which to base yourself and your family to enjoy your holiday.
