Location
Towervans Caravan Park is a Blue Anchor holiday park on Seaholme Road in Mablethorpe. This a very nice site which is not overly busy. It has a pretty lake that is used for fishing and for those who want to fish, permits are available from the office.
On site we have the Tower Tavern, which has just undergone a full refurbishment. They have children's entertainment, live acts ,bingo and much more, as well as a very popular restaurant that serves very good meals. There is outside seating too, plus a small children's play area and a place to play ball safely.
Across the road there is a local shop selling all of the necessities needed.
Within a 10 minute walk is the beautiful Blue Flag beach, with lots of cafés, beach huts, donkey rides and resting places. There’s a family fun fair into the bargain, plus doughnuts, waffles, fish and chips, and a nice cold beer at the Bubbles Bar, along with The Dunes family entertainment complex. Our favourite is The Lookout Café, which offers a fabulous view, the best priced food in Mablethorpe and a friendly welcome from Angelina and Ian.
Victoria Park is a 10 minute walk away. It has a large boating lake with its swan pedalos and little red speedboats – it truly takes you back in time. There’s also a large, free paddling pool for children, a putting green, crazy golf, a miniature train ride and a bouncy castle play area.
The town itself is about a 15 minute walk, where you will find a variety of shops, including The Fairy Glen which sells candles, soaps and some very unusual stuff; All Sorts, which is just as the name suggests; a big toy shop called Jacksons; the original Factory Shop; The Co-op with the Post Office; Lidle and Tesco. There’s also plenty of indoor markets, plus an outdoor weekly market on a Thursday; coffee shops and cafés too numerous to mention; restaurants of many types; plenty of amusement arcades; plus The Mirage with its bowling alley and diner.
Walks along the beach offer views as far as the eye can see. There’s also The Tidal Bell and nature reserves, or take the beach train so far, or visit the seal sanctuary.
There is so much to see and do in Mablethorpe and along this gorgeous stretch of Lincolnshire coast.
