Rest, relaxation & time to recharge - that’s what it’s all about during your stay at ‘Meadow Croft’, our ABI Beaumont holiday home located at Forest Views Caravan Park close to the Lake District National Park.

This peaceful site offers beautiful views across open countryside towards Skiddaw in the Lake District National Park. By car, the popular market town of Cockermouth is less than a 10 minute drive away, and the scenic Solway Coast can be reached in less than 20 minutes.

‘Meadow Croft’ lodge provides you with many comforts of home, with tea towels, duvets, pillows, bath towels and bed linen all included.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need.

There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and walk-in wardrobe area, while the second bedroom contains two single beds.

There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a shower over a bath.

The raised patio area has a clear glass surround and comes complete with stylish seating for al fresco dining. It is set in a spacious bay and surrounded by landscaped grounds.

We live locally and will be available throughout your stay for any queries and advice. You will also be met at the property to hand over the keys, unless it’s more convenient to make other arrangements.

Bookings & Conditions

When booking in advance, a deposit of 20% is required, with full payment no later than 30 days prior to check-in.

Any booking within 30 days of the check-in date requires payment in full at the time of booking.

In addition, a security/damage deposit of £100 is required refundable within 7 days after stay subject to no damage.

Check-in is after 16:00 on the day of arrival and check-out is before 10:00 on the day of departure.

The property is not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

Pets by request. We allow one medium dog or two small dogs. It/they must not be left unattended at any time or allowed on the furnishings, particularly sofas and beds, to avoid any damage. Please follow our house rules and the site rules in our Guest Information File for pets at the site.

Meadow Croft also features a small collection of local art and crafts. Carefully chosen by us to enhance your experience, these favourite pieces are also available for you to purchase as a memento of your visit should you wish.

PARK RULES

. Speed Limit 10mph
. Due to overhead cables, kite flying is not allowed
. Please keep noise to a minimum after 10pm
. The washing of cars on site is not permitted
. No washing line/rotary airer allowed
. Children must have adult supervision at all times and no ball games are allowed on the park
. Only one car may be parked alongside each caravan except with the park owner’s permission
. Dogs MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES and be exercised off the park to avoid fouling the grounds

Location

Meadow Croft provides the perfect base from which to explore the Lake District National Park and the other beautiful areas of Cumbria. It is also ideally situated to visit the Scottish Borders, Northumberland and the Northern Pennines. The area is full of dramatic scenery and diverse landscapes, from stunning coastlines to magnificent mountains and lakes.

Although there are no facilities on the site, within walking distance there is a Garden Centre and Coffee Shop, and just a short drive away you will find a family and dog friendly pub in the nearby village of Bothel.

Local places to visit and explore are also featured in the Guest Information File within the lodge.

Forest Views Caravan Park is located on a bus route allowing visits to Cockermouth, Keswick and Carlisle.

The nearest train station is located at Aspatria. Local taxi firms often offer sightseeing tours, but the most convenient way to explore and see the sights is by car.

DIRECTIONS TO MEADOW CROFT

From the M6 Penrith Junction 40, take the A66 heading to Keswick. At the Keswick traffic island take the A591 northwards, passing The Castle Inn and continuing to Bothel. Turn left onto the A595 towards Cockermouth and once onto a straight section of road turn left into Forest Views Caravan Park BEFORE reaching Moota Garden Centre and Coffee Shop.

From the M6 heading south to Penrith take Junction 41 (recommend to avoid travelling through Carlisle town centre), take the B5305 heading to Wigton. At the end of the B5305 turn left to Cockermouth. Once you have passed through the village of Bothel you will go onto a straight section of road and turn left into Forest Views Caravan Park BEFORE reaching Moota Garden Centre and Coffee Shop.
