Ottery St Mary
Ottery St Mary lies on the River Otter, about ten miles east of Exeter. It is one of the oldest and most historic towns in Devon. World famous for the Tar barrels event held every 5th November, when flaming tar barrels are carried through the town in a tradition dating from the 17th century.
The ancient church of St. Mary's Church is the jewel of Ottery, and a focus for visitors.
