Caravan Description
Set in 250 acres of tranquil countryside enjoy breath-taking views across the Coly Valley. Help with animals and pets on the family run farm, have horse rides and lessons in the riding stables or just come to relax and enjoy the countryside! Wonderful walks around the farm and local area from right outside the door, on foot or horseback. Bird and wildlife watch from the decked veranda, don't forget to bring your binoculars! Close to many beaches along the Jurassic Coast.
Devenish Pitt Farm and stables is situated in the picturesque East Devon Coly Valley; a peaceful country setting four miles from the market town of Honiton and close to numerous coastal towns and villages along the beautiful Jurassic coast.
The static home is situated in a peaceful spot with outstanding views across the valley. Visitors can relax and admire the spectacular view from the veranda and enjoy barbecues and meals outside. They also have the use of a large, spacious garden.
This cosy 8 berth home comfortably sleeps 6 people in three bedrooms; one double, one twin and one bunk bedroom, all with electric heaters. There is a spacious lounge/dining area with gas heater, a fully equipped kitchen, and a shower room with shower, toilet and wash basin.
All equipment, bed linen, tea towels and gas are included and towels if you wish.
There is a parking space beside the home and additional parking close by.
Access to the home is by decked ramp.
We have free Wi-Fi in the caravan.

About the Area
We have many farm animals and pets; willing volunteers can help tend to the sheep, feed our friendly pygmy goats and/or groom and help look after our many friendly horses and ponies.
However, the caravan is situated in a private spot so guests not interested in the farm or horses will be equally as happy as those that may be very keen on this aspect of the holiday.
From the riding school opposite we offer hacks in our beautiful countryside and indoor/outdoor lessons from a friendly team of instructors. Family rides are available. For those who have never ridden before we can offer part lessons followed by part gentle ride out.
Fully supervised children's half days at the stables can be arranged, to include a range of stable management instruction as well as riding.
Come to enjoy the quiet tranquility of the countryside around you: Numerous walks and local places of interest with fishing, golf, sandy/pebble beaches etc., all minutes away; Stunning coastal footpaths over the cliff tops along the World Heritage Jurassic coastline just a short drive away. Devenish Pitt is an an ideal base for exploring Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Dartmoor, Exmoor and the south coast.
We are situated in East Devon, an area of outstanding natural beauty approximately 4 miles from Honiton and close to many beaches along the Jurassic Coastline. Our nearest beach is only 4 miles away and local sandy and pebble beaches include Branscombe, Sidmouth, Beer and Seaton. Lyme Regis and Charmouth are also nearby and are great for fossil hunters. The spectacular West Bay, where they famous 'Broadchurch' was filmed, is only 40mins away
There are also numerous local places of interest and family parks in the area.
Local Towns & Villages
Honiton - 6 minutes: The market town of Honiton is famous for its traditional lace dating back to the 1600s, used to make Queen Victoria’s wedding dress; numerous antique shops; 13th century chapel of Allhallows a grade II listed building with museum showing samples of lacemaking; Swimming pool and sports centre; new Beehive Community and Arts Centre; Honiton Golf course; Tesco, Lidl, Aldi supermarkets.
Exeter - 45 minutes: With its beautiful Cathedral and modern
Branscombe - 10 minutes: A pretty seaside village with beach café, scenic walks, boat trips and mackerel fishing.
Seaton - 15 minute: Popular seaside resort in Victorian times; golf, tennis, bowls, fishing and sailing. Its mile long beach, which is part of the Jurassic Coast, opens onto the waters of Lyme Bay. Seaton Tramway an historic open-top tramway runs from Seaton to Colyford & Colyton aside the River Axe Estuary where a great variety of bird life congregates.
Seaton Jurassic - The new exciting visitor attraction for East Devon tells the uniquely powerful story of the geology and marine ecology of the Jurassic Coast; England's first Natural World Heritage Site.
Seaton's Axe Cliff Golf Club - the Jurassic way runs straight through the course with spectacular views from every point. The club welcomes visiting golfers and walkers to enjoy food and hospitality.
Beer - 13 minutes: A pretty fishing village with Pecorama Model Railway and pleasure gardens, and Quarry Caves where Beer stone has been quarried here since Roman times.
Sidmouth - 20 minutes: Beach resort with pebbly town beach; sandy Jacob’s ladder beach and stunning Connaught gardens; famous Donkey Sanctuary; swimming pool and sports centre.
Lyme Regis in Dorset - 25 minutes: great for fossils, famous for its Cobb and where 'The French Lieutenant’s Woman' and 'Persuasion' was filmed.
West Bay - 40 minutes: A little further up the Dorset coast home of the popular TV series of Broadchurch.

An amazing base for walking - In addition to walks on the farm 15mins to the South West Coast Path along the Jurassic Coast, beside beaches and along cliff tops and then the parallel inland alternative, East Devon Way 38 miles between Exmouth and Lyme Regis includes heathland, wooded areas and farm pasture - part of which runs over Devenish Pitt land.
Cookery courses at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage - 25 minute drive,
Dartmoor, Exmoor, Dorset and Somerset are all on our doorstep too.
Travel
Exeter airport is a 25 minute drive away. Honiton Railway Station is just 6 minutes, with rail link to London (Waterloo)
