About Polkilden

Polkilden (which means “retreat by the lake” in Cornish!) is our beautiful, privately owned static caravan located on the sought-after Trevella Holiday Park, just outside Crantock village and near Newquay. Perfect for families, couples, and well-behaved dogs, Polkilden offers a modern, spacious, and luxurious stay with stunning countryside views.

You’ll find the perfect mix of Cornish countryside and coast, making it a wonderful base for exploring Cornwall.

Location & Pitch

Polkilden is on a premium pitch between the fishing lake and reception, close to:
• Children’s play parks
• Outdoor pool
• Communal green (ideal for kids to play!)

We offer a tarmac driveway with space for 1–2 cars. There are 3 steps up to a gated decking area with safety banisters on both sides.

EV charging: Available at reception. Please note: charging from the caravan is not permitted and violates our T&Cs.

Inside Polkilden

Step inside to a welcoming entry area with seating and shoe storage, leading into a light and airy open-plan living space:
• Lounge: Freestanding L-shaped corner sofa, TV/DVD player, gas fire, and a leather tub chair. (Note: no sofa bed in this model.)
• Dining area: Large table, bench seating, 2 freestanding chairs, and extra stool available from the master bedroom.
• Kitchen: Fully equipped with full-size fridge/freezer, gas oven/hob, brand new 700w microwave (2025), toaster, kettle, iron, ironing board, and hoover.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Polkilden sleeps up to 6 guests across 3 bedrooms:
• Main bedroom: Double bed with Sealy Gelltec orthopaedic mattress, built-in vanity unit, dimmable bedside lights, wardrobes, and drawers.
• 2 x Twin rooms: Each with 2 single beds, bedside cabinet, and single wardrobe. (One with curtains, one with Venetian blinds.)
• Family bathroom: Walk-in shower, sink, and toilet
• Additional WC: Separate toilet and basin – ideal for families!

• Central heating & double glazing
• Private Wi-Fi available for £5 per stay
• 4G/5G may be limited in peak seasons
• Linen & towels: Available to hire via our cleaning company or bring your own
• Duvets & pillows provided (seasonal weight, protectors included)

A welcome kit is provided: 1 bin bag, hand soap, and sponge.
No smoking or candles anywhere in or around the caravan or decking.

Pet-Friendly

We accept well-behaved pets with prior approval:
• £20 per pet, per stay
• Pets must not go on beds or sofas
• No dangerous breeds (per Dangerous Dogs Act)
• Bring their own beds, bowls, and never leave pets unattended

Booking Options

We offer two ways to book:
1. Direct Booking:
• £100 non-refundable deposit (deducted from balance)
• Balance due 6 weeks before arrival
• £200 refundable damage deposit due 1 week prior
2. Platform Booking (e.g. UKcaravans4hire, Airbnb):
• Booking terms depend on platform
• Full payment and damage deposit due 6 weeks before arrival

Check-in & Check-out
• Check-in: After 4:00 PM
• Check-out: By 10:00 AM sharp

Late departure or early arrival will result in a £25 fee deducted from your deposit to cover additional cleaning and utilities.

1.Bookings & Payments
1.1 A booking is confirmed only when the Owner receives the deposit and issues written confirmation. Confirmation comes solely from the Owner, not third-party platforms.
1.2 Full names of all guests must be provided at booking. Changes must be promptly communicated, or the booking may be cancelled without liability.
1.3 A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required (third-party platform bookings follow their own terms). Bookings within six weeks of arrival require full payment upfront.
1.4 A refundable damages deposit of £200 is due week before check-in and returned within 5 working days after departure, minus costs for damage, theft, excessive cleaning, or breach of terms.
1.5 The holiday balance must be paid at least six weeks before arrival. Late payment may result in cancellation with the Guest remaining liable for the full amount.
1.6 All changes or cancellations must be in writing:
 • Deposit is always forfeited on cancellation.
 • Cancellations within six weeks of arrival: full balance remains payable.
1.7 Guests are strongly advised to obtain travel insurance. Failure to do so is at their own risk.
1.8 If the Owner is unable to provide the holiday for any reason, all payments will be fully refunded, and liability is limited to the amounts paid. However, if the Guest breaches these terms or behaves improperly, no refund will be given.
