About the Area

Within a few minutes’ walk of the Penrhyn Hall Caravan Park, there is a newsagent and convenience store, a Co-op food, petrol station and a salon. There is also a post office around ten minutes’ walk away and various options for dining out.

Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Old Colwyn and Conwy are just some of the easy to access surrounding towns. The location of the site offers easy access to the A55 for visiting Anglesey or Chester and any number of towns and attractions in between, as well as to the A470 for travelling into Snowdonia National Park. A small selection of tourist information brochures are available in S1 for your reference.

There are several local beaches, some of which are in walking distance, and Llandudno's West Shore (around 10 minutes away by car) offers a vast expanse of sand at low tide as well as a children's play area and other seafront attractions.

North Wales itself is incredibly rich in heritage with National Trust sites such as Bodnant Gardens and Penrhyn Castle within easy driving distance. There are also heritage sites (managed by cadw) including Conwy Castle and Beaumaris Castle which are accessible at reduced admission with English Heritage or Historic Scotland membership.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo is just outside of Colwyn Bay and you pass Bodafon Farm Park on the left as you enter into Llandudno from Penrhyn Bay. If you prefer to watch wildlife from a distance, there are local nature reserves such as Conwy RSPB Nature Reserve or Bryn Euryn in Colwyn Bay. Part of the Little Orme is also overseen as a reserve by the North Wales Wildlife Trust.

Golfing is available in the area and the Biking Conwy initiative provides a range of maps and graded trail information for cycling and mountain within the county. Conwy County Borough Council also offer information on walks in the area and if you fancy something a little more adventurous, the North Wales Path and Wales Coast Path pass through Penrhyn Bay.
