Our riverside mobile home, The Willow, is sited on Pont de Fournil Camping; a small, friendly, family run, 8 acre campsite in the Dordogne region of France, situated on the River Isle.

Pont de Fournil is an 6 acre site with stunning views of the private 3 acre lake and the River, which flows serenely past, creating an enchanting setting for a perfectly relaxing holiday.

Our mobile home has a centre lounge and two bedrooms. It can sleep up to five people in one double bedroom and one bedroom with twin beds and third bunk, suitable for a child. There’s also the facility to turn one of the beds into a cot.

The lounge/diner has comfy seating and a dining table, with lovely views of the river from the patio doors on to the terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a washing machine, gas cooker, fridge, toaster and electric kettle.

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash basin.

The mobile home has a large decking area with beautiful views overlooking the River Isle. It is partly covered, offering some welcome shade, and includes a patio table, chairs, small bench and two deck chairs, along with a BBQ and a rotary washing line.

There is also a grassy area and parking.

Books, games and rackets etc. are provided.

Bed linen, gas, water and electric are all included in the price.

No smoking allowed inside the mobile home.

We are just a 40 minute drive from Bergerac airport.
Location

Pont de Fournil is on the River Isle at St Laurent des Hommes situated half way between Bordeaux and Perigueux.

Facilities on Pont de Fournil Camping include a swimming pool; tennis; table tennis; boating lake; a Wi-Fi hut and children’s swings. It also has its own private stretch of riverbank on the River Isle.


The boating lake has several boats, canoes and kayaks, which are free for all guests to use.

There is a large variety of fish in the river, but a French fishing licence is required to fish the river and is available from the local tackle shops, which stock all other angling equipment.

St Laurent des Hommes, 3 km away, is our local village where you will find a butchers, bakers, grocers, newsagents, hairdressers, post office, a historic church and not forgetting the local bar/restaurant, which is typically French and friendly.

Mussidan, just 7 km away, is our local town. Here you will find anything else you may need, including supermarkets bars/restaurants, a weekly market (Saturday mornings) and a helpful local tourist information office.

There are so many beautiful and interesting places to visit in this region; its quite impossible to list them all. Here are just a few Local interests

Grand etang La Jemaye and Lac de Gurson - two lakes with have been turned into safe, sandy beaches for swimming and sailing both have bars/restaurants, ice cream farm with homemade dairy ice-cream, peddle go- karting, football golf, maze and other games.

Moulin de Duellas - Old water mill, here you can take a boat ride along the river Isle, going through a manual lock.
Horse riding, good cycle tracks , canoeing and kayaking, Chateau de Montreal, Chateau de Barriere Villamblard, Chateau de Neuvic, Abby Echourgnac

Other places to visit include:

. Bergerac, with its own airport, is famous for its wines and beautiful medieval buildings
. Perigueux -the capital city of the Dordogne
. Brantome - this charming town is an Island encircled by a loop of the river Dronne
. Saint-Emilion - this medieval village is today best known for its red wines and its lovely medieval houses and monuments
. Arcachon - 150km away but well worth the visit. Here you will find mile upon mile of unspoilt, uncrowded golden beaches, along with Europe’s tallest sand dunes (dune du Pilat).
