Our 38’ x 12’ caravan is rated by Pevensey Bay Holiday Park as ‘Platinum’ grade.

This fully equipped caravan has a double bedroom with en-suite toilet, a twin bedroom and a pull-out double bed in the main living room.
Within the main living area is a 32” TV and DVD player, with a selection of films for all tastes, along with a few games/puzzles for family fun too. There is also dining table and plenty of seating for everyone. Free high speed broadband is included. Both bedrooms have a TV with DVD player.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, hob and microwave; a full size fridge freezer; toaster and kettle. All manner of kitchen equipment is installed enabling you to make meals if you prefer to self cater.

There is a double size shower in the main bathroom.

The caravan also benefits from having a large, south-west outside deck, catching the sun all day; lovely for eating or relaxing. It has lighting, a table and chairs (with cushions) for six people, plus floor cushions for the kids to lounge on. There is a disabled/pushchair ramp up to the entrance door. The decking is self-contained and is safe for your little ones to be outside.

Parking for your car is right there next to the caravan.

The caravan has gas central heating and a fire for chilly evenings.

Wi-Fi is also available, plus ample USB sockets.

Upon arrival your beds will be made up ready (with the exception of the pull-out, but duvet and pillows will have covers and stored adjacent to the bed). One hand and one bath towel for each person and a quick dry beach/pool towel each are also included. Please note towels are environmentally friendly line dried.

There will also be a welcome pack to get your holiday off to a great start. Your hostess will be there to meet you or a key will be in the key cabinet for you to let yourself in. There are full instructions inside, so you will know how everything works and your hosts will be available by telephone.

Small dogs are welcome by arrangement.

Minimum rental is 3 days.

Pevensey Bay Holiday Park has an indoor swimming pool and sauna. The passes for these are not included in our rental price, but are available for you to purchase separately from Reception.

Location

On site at Pevensey Bay Holiday Park, you will find a clubhouse with restaurant and entertainment, including activities for the children, along with an indoor swimming pool and steam room. (There is a charge to use these facilities and their are child supervision rules - please enquire at reception). The Boathouse serves food and there is a bar with entertainment. This is free to enter. There is a play park too, but please supervise your children at all times.

The park is also a stone’s throw from the beach, which although pebbly, when the tide is low there is a large expanse of sand with sandcastles to build and paddling or swimming in the shallow water. To find the beach just walk back to The Boathouse and turn left, the path will take you to the beach.

**Please be aware that if the tide is up and you enter the water - remember that it is tidal and there may be undercurrents! We have provided a tide timetable for your convenience.

Locally there are many activities for you to enjoy, including paddle boarding, kayaking and other water-sports. You can walk across the beautiful countryside to the historic Pevensey Castle. You can also walk to Sovereign Harbour, where at the waterfront there are a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. You can also order take-away delivery from here. There is a large Asda supermarket open until 10pm each night supplying everything you could need if you wish to self-cater.

Pevensey Bay Holiday Park is on a bus route that can take you to The Sovereign Centre that has a large fun pool with wave machine and flumes. Or you can continue on into Eastbourne itself for shopping and the pier, or a bus/train will get you to Brighton in approximately 30 minutes. Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters Country Park for walking and cycling, are within easy reach.

In the other direction is historic Hastings, with many holiday activities and interesting places to visit, including taking the lift up to the famous 1066 castle and caves.

SHOPPING NEARBY

For shopping you can either walk or drive. For the village of Pevensey Bay turn right out of the main gate. It will only take you 10 minutes to walk. If you wish to get some nice bread or even treat yourself to breakfast Ocean View Bakery at Pevensey Bay. There is also a really well stocked convenience store there too.

There is a contemporary Indian Restaurant at Pevensey Bay called Raipur. Booking is essential but they do take away as well. There is another Indian restaurant called Miah

If you want a bigger store then turn left out of the gate and follow the road until to see Asda on the left hand side. This complex also has a Wilko and very easy parking.


EATING ON THE HARBOUR

You can walk along the beach to the Sovereign Harbour Front or drive to the same place that you find Asda, there is huge free car park. The waterside has a wonderful holiday atmosphere and is busy and buzzy.

There is a Harvester for family eating with a large terrace overlooking the boats.

Thai Marina is an upmarket Thai restaurant with high quality food, they also do take away that you can get delivered.

Simply Italian is exactly what it says and does really good freshly cooked food. Great for families. It has an outside terrace. Dogs are welcome inside and out.

Delitos is a great ice-cream, breakfast or lunch stop. Also serves good coffee - inside or outside. Dogs are welcome inside and out.

Pablos is a great Mediterraneanwith terrace on the waterfront it also has a ‘build-your-own’ ice cream parlour next door.

The Four Seasons has fish of the day, a large menu of traditional food. There is a selection of cakes and ice creams. It is licensed, serves cocktails, and has a gin menu.

Ganges Indian restaurant, also does take-away.

The Garden Bar shows Sports and has live entertainment.

Harbour Bar and Grill To eat in or take-away.

THINGS TO DO PEVENSEY AND EASTBOURNE

Pevensey Castle is a medieval castle and is run by English Heritage. It is however free to get into the grounds and it’s a great place for a picnic and games of frisbee. It is a nice walk across the fields alongside the river. We have spotted all manner of wildlife on this walk including kingfishers. There is a marked footpath and it passes through the fields where you may encounter cows. It goes across the railway line. You will have to negotiate a style. There are three pubs at Pevensey. The Smugglers Inn, The Heron and The Royal Oak and Castle. Come out of the gate and turn right, you will see the sign for the castle on the opposite side of the road.

Bikes can be hired at Lets Bike in Eastbourne or there are App bikes at the Harbour.

You can take a boat trip around the harbour and sometimes there are boat trips out to the lighthouse at sunset. If I know there is one whilst you are staying I will tip you off.

Whilst there is a pool at the park you could go to the family pool at the Sovereign Centre that has a wave machine and slides. There is usually a water disco on a Friday night that is a bit of fun. Turn left out of the gate and follow the A259 to Eastbourne, you will see it on the left.

Princes Park on the opposite of the road has a big cafe and outdoor seating for picnics, a plethora of ducks to feed and a play park with swings etc.

Buzz Watersport Centre has paddle boarding, canoe experiences and other water sports. They are friendly and helpful.

There is fresh fish for sale at Fisherman’s green on the way into Eastbourne. They do a crab sandwich at the cafe there too.

About the Area

On site at Pevensey Bay Holiday Park, you will find a clubhouse with restaurant and entertainment, including activities for the children, along with an indoor swimming pool and sauna. The Boathouse serves food and there is a bar with entertainment. There is a play park too, but please supervise your children at all times. A nine hole golf course is adjacent (pay locally).

If you carry on there is Treasure Island. Pirate themed fun for the little ones, soft play, paddling pool etc.

Next to the lifeboat is a small fresh fish shop selling fresh local fish. It is opposite the tennis courts. They will prepare fish for you.

There is a locally famous ice cream parlour called Fusciadis before you reach the pier. Be prepared to queue in nice weather.

The Pier gives you a taste of the old fashioned sea side experience. Chips, ice cream and candy floss.

Next to the pier are the carpet gardens that always look lovely.

Harry Ramsden has a large restaurant on the front too I’d you like a posh bag of chips!

From the pier you can take the Coaster bus that travels up over the downs and on to Brighton. It takes a while but the scenery is good and it saves you parking in Brighton which is very expensive. All bus trips are currently £2 each and you can alight for the Seven Sisters and Cuckmere Valley.

If you want a unique and really good fun night out. Check out what is on at The Bandstand. It is a unique venue famous for tribute bands. There is a bar and the atmosphere is brilliant, it is an outdoor venue.

The RNLI have a shop at the wish tower.

Pierre’s restaurant just next to the Wish Tower has an extensive menu and views. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

If you want a really old fashioned afternoon tea there is nothing like The Grand Hotel. Locally known as the wedding cake, it is a special occasion venue.

There is a footpath that runs the full length of the prom and there are beautiful Italian gardens and Helen gardens both places at the Holywell end of the prom to sit and admire the sea.

If you make it to the foot of the downs there is Holywell cafe for a well deserved cuppa.

You can climb up the footpath to the top of the downs where the view is breathtaking. Carry on across the downs and you will see the famous Beachy Head lighthouse. There is a pub at the top too as well as a visitors centre.

Driving across the downs there is the lighthouse to visit, Bell 2 and a really interesting visitor’s centre at Birling Gap, where there is also a loo.

If you like walking then the Seven Sisters County Park is a must. Beautiful scenery along the river out to the sea. One can paddle board here too.

Eastbourne has good railway connections to Brighton and Hastings and London.

Eastbourne has a good selection of theatres

There is a large Vue Cinema in the Beacon Shopping Centre

The Towner Art Gallery is worth a visit too, it has 100,000 visitors a year to many exhibitions
