On a ‘Bed & Breakfast’ basis only, we are offering a double en-suite room with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and loch. Leitir House, situated in the Highland Region of Scotland. Price is £75 per night for the double room inc breakfast. Email or ring regarding availability
Built in 2019, Leitir House sits on an elevated four and a half acre site overlooking Loch Lochy in the Great Glen.
Its a Swedish crossed with a Scottish long house design and is in the top 4% of low energy houses in Scotland. Energy rating A , Enviroment impact A. We have our own grey water treatment plant and drinking water comes straight from the hill behind the house. Most of the electricity is generated on site too. * 1700W solar PV, * and 500W micro hydro.
Within the room we provide a TV, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee.
Breakfast is available on the first floor gallery area, which again offers great views of the countryside.
In a departure from the standard breakfast, we will be offering for this season, a choice of:
. Scrambled egg muffins with Scottish smoked salmon and sour cream
. Apple and pecan porridge
. Haggis crumpets
. Scottish venison and tomato breakfast hash with spinach and poached egg
. Selection of fruit,toast etc.
Main ingredients are all sourced locally.
The Scandinavian custom of no outdoor shoes in the house apply here, so please leave them in the cloakroom. Fear not, the bathroom floor is heated.
There is plenty of car parking / camper van space at Leitir House

About the Area
Getting HereAccess to Leitir House is from the A82, from where a 100m track leads up to the house and parking area. From Spean Bridge, after about 7 miles, pass the Whispering Pines Hotel on your left. Then in 200m as the road comes down to the Lochside, take the next entrance on the right by the Old Inn. From Inverness, on approach to Letterfinlay, pass the viewing area car park with its burger van on your right hand side, then after 200m take the next left entrance by the Old Inn.
*** Do not follow Sat Nav to PH34 4DZ – instead chose Letterfinlay as the destination on the A82. You will end up in the woods on the wrong side of the Loch if you use the postcode only ***
In the Area
There is a hotel with bar and restaurant serving food all day just 100m away. They also offer some spa beauty treatments too. City link buses stop 100m away.
Other places to eat include The Barge at Laggan Lochs, Loch Oich foods café, Water leisure park on Loch Oich and a good café in Spean Bridge.
If you have a kayak or paddle board, then access to the loch can be arranged.
