About the Area

Thorness Bay Holiday Park is close to Newport, Cowes and Robins Hill, although in truth nowhere is far on the Isle of Wight!

Amongst other things the holiday park has its own pebbly beach, swimming pool, entertainment, arcade, kids’ playground and basketball courts. There is also a bar that serves food, along with a small shop that sells a wide range of items.

The Isle of Wight itself has a wide range of things to do and see. The Needles are particularly good for a day out, with some fantastic views up at The Needles Battery. Osborne House, Queen Victoria's home, is a great place to visit for any history buffs, as is Fishbourne roman palace. If you like beaches, Sandown is a nice place to go on a sunny day. It also has a zoo which is a sanctuary for big cats. On the same road you can find Dinosaur Isle. The Pearl Centre is interesting and you can even pick your own pearl or buy some lovely jewellery - they also do amazing cakes in the coffee shop!
