Ladram Bay Holiday Park is a multi-award-winning family holiday site, winner of "Best Holiday Park in Britain" and awarded Hoseason's Diamond Award for many consecutive years. Ladram Bay sits on the Jurassic coast World Heritage Site with its own enclosed beach and is reached through the picturesque village of Otterton. The park is constantly adding new and updating its existing facilities, recent additions are the climbing wall, upgrades to the new swimming pool and adjacent sunbathing areas, a new beach café, plus shop and loo areas at the beach, beach picnic benches and mats for easier walking (over the pebbles!), and night-time lighting of the beach and slipway.
Our Ladram caravan has been the hub of our own family holiday and short breaks for many years - sited high up on Peak Field giving fantastic south and east-facing sea views across Lyme Bay as far as Portland, and across the Ladram Bay site to the hills leading to Sidmouth. The sunrises are amazing and the panoramic view needs to be seen to be appreciated!
We continue to have brilliant feedback from all our guests who stay in our van, our visitors book we keep there is crammed with great comments from both new and returning guests. We make it very easy to book, find the van, and we do go out of our way to accommodate what you need, and ensure you enjoy your stay.
Sleeping: Our caravan has a double bedroom with wardrobe, cupboard and drawer space, and two twin bedrooms with cupboard and drawer storage.
The lounge and dining area has sofa seating with pull-out double sofa-bed, and a dining table and chairs. There are some games, books and DVD's, feel free to use them (and put them back tidily please...) during your stay.
The shower room has a walk-in shower, loo, wash basin and heated towel rail. There is a separate toilet room with wash hand basin.
The kitchen has a gas cooker with four rings, oven and grill, and a fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, plenty of pans and utensils, crockery, cutlery, glasses and mugs. We do provide a 'booster' high-chair, which sits onto a dining chair, in case you bring a small person.
The lounge has a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player, coffee table, stools etc.
The paved patio has a two-burner gas barbeque, a large table and parasol with six chairs. Also outside there is a trunk with surf shoes in various sizes, kids foam surf boards, Frisbees, games, etc - please feel free to use them whilst you are there. (BBQ cooking tools are in the kitchen cupboards, please feel free to use our BBQ but please clean thoroughly afterwards!).
We provide one king size and one double duvet and four single duvets and eight pillows - guests will need to bring their own bed linen to cover these, along with their own towels, tea towels and washing up cloths.
We include electricity in the rental price - for reasonable use of course. Gas for cooking, shower and central heating is metered in the van and guests will need to purchased gas credit from the site reception As a guide, summer guests should only need approximately £10 to £15 or so of gas in a week of normal use.
The rental period is normally Saturday to Saturday, we are also pleased to let for weekends and short breaks but we prefer this to be outside the peak summer holiday season. Please arrive from 3pm, but in some occasions we can arrange it earlier than that - just chat to us. After booking (we normally like to see a 20% deposit on booking, please) we will email you;
- a set of 'Welcome Instructions' - how to get there, what's provided in the van and what you need to bring),
- a map of site to locate our van, and lastly,
- a 'Visitors Car Pass' to print out and display in your car. This will allow you free entry (the site now charges £10 per car/day otherwise!)
Get there as early as you want on the first day - no need to delay your arrival at site until 3pm- enjoy the full first day, and last day as well!. There is a single off-road car-parking space alongside our caravan, if you bring an additional car (which will also need a 'Visitors Car Pass' also, of course) this can be parked at the main reception car park during your stay.
Please make sure you leave the caravan by 11am on the day of departure. We do provide a vacuum cleaner for you to do a good clean-round - especially if you have had pets with you. Please remove all food and rubbish to the bins at the rear of the reception car park.
Ladram Bay is a pleasant and enjoyable family holiday park and bookings are not accepted from all-male and all-female parties- in addition the lead hirer must be over 25 years of age.
We don't allow smoking in the caravan at all, please. Our van insurances would be rendered invalid in all cases, so that is a blanket ban please, with no exceptions (in 2017 we have noted a guest HAD smoked in one bedroom, which did take some considerable time and effort to banish the lingering smell - PLEASE don't). You may smoke on the patio, of course, and please clear up afterwards.
We are happy for you to use (only) our own gas BBQ, and ensure it is placed half-way between vans when in use and cooling down. And PLEASE give it a good clean afterwards!. The Ladram site has recently banned all portable barbeques (foil trays, etc) - after a recent case when fire from one caught a caravan and destroyed it in minutes.
We often allow pets, but after discussing cleaning, sleeping and hygiene arrangements - if we do agree to allow a pet, an additional charge may apply (we have never needed to do this, actually). We do ask that the dog has its own bed, is housetrained, and keeps off all the furniture. Dogs aren't allowed on Ladram Bay beach itself, and the site doesn't allow some aggressive dog breeds at all- but please feel free to ask us, or take a look at their website guidance, for clarification.
We would love to hear from you to discuss any stay, whether for a short break, long or short weekend, a week or longer - we have many guests who return frequently, multiple times in a season in some cases. We do start booking up well before Christmas, so please contact us as early as possible. When you respond through this site please provide your email address AND a phone number, in case you mis-type your email and we can't get back to you, it would be a shame to lose a booking from you simply because we can't respond!.
