About the Area

Camping Cabopino is set within a cool pine wooded area bordering an attractive and popular golf course - one of many in the area. The Park is well equipped for all your needs having Mario,s cafe /licensed bar/ restaurant - the social hub of the park with entertainment at various times.

For a more formal dining experience visit Da Bruno's Italian restaurant by the Park gates. It also provide a takeaway service. Jaipur Palace (Indian cuisine) is just outside the park gates.

The camp site shop, open daily, is surprisingly well equipped & cheap for most things & sells freshly baked bread & crossoints daily.

There are 2 pools with terraces & free sun-beds - One being covered, solar heated & open all year & the other outdoor (weather dependant but usually open from Easter to the end of October). There are numerous free sporting facilities on the park including 5 a-side football pitch, volleyball & basketball court, zip wire, climbing wall, Pétanque & an outdoor gym. For a small charge there is a supervised treetop adventure circuit. There are seasonal additional children's activities (table tennis, archery, shooting etc) arranged & supervised by the resident entertainment team - ask for the weekly programme from reception on arrival. For the little ones there is a small play park & 'Partylandia' (soft play, balls & trampolines). A varied adult activity programme is available out of high season which include Pilates, Spanish language & cookery sessions, quiz nights & occasional excursions.

Just a few minutes walk from the park is Cabopino beach, set within the Artola Dunes conservation area, backed by pine trees & sand dunes & with safe clean bathing. There are a couple of lively cafe bars/restaurants on the beach, which also offer regular entertainment throughout the year. There are the usual beach & water based activities (pedalos, canoes, banana rides etc) available throughout the summer months & facilities (car parking, toilets, lifeguards etc) are good. A 4km boardwalk runs west through the dunes towards Marbella with access to quieter spots along the beach and other beach cafes. Or walk east along the boardwalk from Calahonda to La Cala.

To the left of the beach is Peurto Cabopino, a small, but lively marina with numerous bars & restuarants & only a short walk from the park. There is also a Sports bar in the marina complex or down in Calahonda.

A regular (half-hourly) and cheap bus service (M220) runs along the coast road between the large resort of Fuengirola to the east and Marbella to the west, with other resorts along the way and beyond. The bus stops are a short walk from the park.

Calahonda (5 min drive or 20 min walk) is the nearest resort with all the facilities of a small town including supermarkets, banks etc . There's is a huge choice of eateries to suit all demands and pockets. A few more minutes on the bus takes you to the resort of La Cala - a delightful place to walk around if you fancy a change of scene or a spot of shopping at the twice weekly market.

If culture is your thing, why not visit the cultural heart of Malaga or the cobbled old town of Marbella. Alternatively the large and buzzing resort of Fuengirola, with its long seafront, port, shops & Saturday flea-market etc has the usual activities of a large resort & provides something for everyone. Or maybe head off to Marbella for a spot of designer shopping or go beyond & take in the upmarket vibe of Puerto Banus, where the rich & famous hang out - fun to have a look although for the economically minded, eat before you go as you will need deep pockets to dine there!!

Further afield visit Gibraltar (an hours drive away) & see the famous Rock & Barbery Apes or take a trip to Mijas Pueblo ( one of many picturesque white villages & famous for its resident donkeys). Public transport or excursions can take you to Seville or Granada & there are numerous boat trips (dolphin spotting etc) available in the area.

In short, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone happy during your holiday both on & off the Park. Visit reception on arrival to find brochures on tourist attractions i.e. Waterparks, the cable car at Benalmadena, the Biopark (eco zoo) in Fuengirola to name but a few.
Reception also rent cars & cycles & provide a postal service etc.

The park is easily & cheaply accessible from Malaga airport by public transport which costs under €5 per person and takes approx 1.5 hours depending on your arrival time. However, for those who want a more prompt & easy beginning to their holiday or for families with children & heavy cases in tow, airport transfers can be arranged in advance at a reasonable cost.
