About the Area

Perran Sands is a Haven Holiday Park with all the entertainment you would expect. The Splash Zone has a heated indoor pool with flume, heated outdoor pool with terraces,

There are lots of things to do for all ages of children from 1 to grown up, with family fun time shows.

The shops include a good value convenience store with bakery and off licence, and gift shop. Next door is the launderette. In peak season a puffer train runs around the park and halfway to the beach. The beach has lifeguards and is brilliant for surfing.

on site there is a fish and chip shop and a papa johns pizza take away.

There is activities which can be booked on site in the swimming pool area at an additional cost.

Locally

Perranporth itself is timeless with lots of little beach shops, cafes, bars and a very handy Coop with free cash machine. The beach is beautiful with an excellent bar/cafe overlooking the sea; ideal in the evening when spectacular sunsets are common.

Newquay has the bigger shops and wonderful restaurants, yet still maintains its magic with clean blue star beaches.

You must visit the Eden Project for a family day out. Also, nearby St Austell has a famous brewery - do try their brews.

A little furthur along the south coast is Mevagissey, a charming fishing port and fresh fish. After your St Austell pint you must have the local fish and chips! There is one particular shop that must have a special gift, right for everyone.

On the North coast there is St Ives, a magnet for artists because of its natural beauty. North of Newquay there is lots to do and see; Bedruthen Steps, Tintagel (King Arthur's castle), Padstow (Rick Stein's empire) and Port Isaac where Doc Martin was filmed.

However, you don't have to travel at all, because the dunes to the side of us have lots of exciting historical relics; St Pirran's church, the Oratory (buried in sand for its protection, hopefully to be cleared shortly (I went in it before it was buried). Old Perranporth used to be here before wild sand storms covered it. You can walk for miles and see so many different scenes, rabbits, badgers, snakes (off the paths) and singing birds to help you along.

The locals love to stop and talk about this area; each seems to be an expert in something. One elderly lady has located 75 species of wild orchid here. It is an area of scientific interest also.

You can go the long way to the beach and see breathtaking views. We walk miles each day and still see new things. You will love it!

Please Note:

Entertainment passes are required for access to the pools and show areas, these can be obtained from Reception upon arrival.
