About the Area
A launderette is near to Popa's bar
Approximately 250 yards away is a lovely clean sandy beach which stretches for miles.
Locally there are two a pubs; Popa's Bar which provides meals, quiz, and bingo nights and occasionally entertainment at the weekends, and The Creek which is literally a few steps from the site entrance and which also provides meals, bingo nights and entertainment some weekends.
Down towards the beach there is a cafe/shop/bar that has essential items such as milk, bread, eggs, papers (if ordered) etc. Also they do meals, have bingo and the occasional entertainment night.
For the twitchers there is a newly erected bird hide from which you can look out to the land or sea. For those interested in studying the clouds there is the cloud bar with viewing mirrors and illustrations of the various types of clouds.
Skegness with all the usual amusements and entertainment is only 11 miles south. Fantasy Island and Ingoldmells Market (said to have the biggest market in the country) is 7 miles. Chapel St Leonards for local shopping, Chinese food, fish and chips, pizza etc. is approximately 3 miles. To the north is Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe which are 6 or 7 miles away.
During the late season (October) you may want to go a little further away and visit Donna Nook to see the seals come onto the dunes for breeding, or take a ride onto the Lincolnshire Wolds visiting Somersby where Alfred Lord Tennyson was born and wrote some of his poems. Visit Boston, associated with the pilgrims where in 1620 several were among the group who moved to New England in the Mayflower. Various other attractions in the area include golf, fishing and the inevitable 'car boot sale'
