Our 3 bedroom mobile home is situated on the small family friendly site of Camping du Quinquis, a mile from the beach at Le Pouldu. The site is in a beautiful rural setting , but just a short drive to some glorious beaches and lovely towns such as Quimperle and Guidel.

Having visited Quinquis several times, we loved it so much we decided to buy our own mobile home. It's an older style van than those available on some of the sites across France. It is designed with a central lounge and open plan kitchen area and double doors that open out onto a huge decking that we have recently replaced and extended. We have also replaced the bathroom furniture, so the van is modern inside, comfortable, clean and bright.

We've tried to make this a real home from home, with everything available to ensure a fantastic holiday for those who visit. There are sunloungers with cushions, and a deck top box containing equipment for the beach, fishing , crabbing and sports . Our guests are welcome to use all of these extras that are not available with the caravans hired directly from the site.

Our decking area catches the sun throughout the day and early evening and is set up with a brand new 3 x 3m gazebo, a Webber gas BBQ and a table top gas heater so you can stay out until late at night to enjoy the stars.

The home is located on a large plot in a quiet corner of the campsite, with no through traffic, and overlooks a large field, so is very un-overlooked. But it is still an easy walk to the centre of the site where the swimming pools and facilities are situated. There is a bike rack and rotary drier on the plot.

There are 3 bedrooms, comprising a double, twin and bunk bed rooms, all with plenty of wardrobe and storage space. Duvets and pillows are provided - you just need to bring your own bed linen and towels (although bed linen can be booked if needed).

The kitchen features a gas oven and hob, microwave, full-size fridge -freezer and a full range of crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking equipment.

The bathroom has a shower with a small shallow bath, suitable for bathing young children, sink and toilet. It can be accessed from both the living area and the main double bedroom.

A host of equipment is supplied to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible - a TV to watch DVDs, CD player and docking station, a collection of books, DVDs and games for the whole family.

Renters are required to clean the caravan before they leave or pay for an end of stay clean.

All guests who have rented our home have been happy. Comments from some of these are provided for enquirers.

About the Area

Camping du Quinquis is a lovely child friendly site set in 17 acres of parkland, with mature trees and hedges and green open spaces.

The site has two large outdoor heated swimming pools (open from late May until early September) with two children's paddling pools and a spa pool.

There are two children's play areas, a football pitch (which can also be used for softball, rounders, cricket etc), tennis court, volleyball and boules areas, table tennis and pool table. Laundry facilities are also available for use at a small charge.

The bar area is located next to the swimming pools. Outside seating overlooks either the pools or one of the play areas, so you can enjoy a break from the sun or a quiet drink whilst keeping an eye on young children.

During high season there is evening entertainment 2 or 3 times a week, such as a quiz night or live music. However, there are no discos and no noisy games rooms/ arcades.

From mid-July to early September you will also find a take away restaurant providing a great choice of freshly cooked dishes, including a children's menu - a great treat when you fancy a change from cooking but don't want to head to local restaurants.

The reception area hosts a small shop selling all the basic requirements. In high season fresh bread and croissants can be ordered and collected each morning. Bikes can also be hired here, including electric bikes.

Local Area

Le Pouldu is just over a mile away. It has safe sandy beaches and coves, picturesque cliff-top walks and a small choice of bars, creperies and restaurants. Supermarkets are only a short drive away.

Guidel is also close by. This offers a full range of shops to buy provisions and hosts a Sunday Market. Whilst we have visited there has also been a local event during the Market times with Breton dancing and singing and offerings of the local cider and cassis! There is also a fantastic long sandy beach at Guidel, with great surf for those who are more adventurous.

There is a wide range of local activities and attractions - riverside walks, cycle trails through the forest, canoeing, fishing and horse-riding. There are also a number of golf courses nearby. You can visit picturesque and historic towns and villages close by, such as Quimperle,Pont Avon and Concarneau, or travel slightly further afield to visit places of interest which include the megalithic stones at Carnac, the Acquarium at Brest or the Zoo at Pont Scorff. There are indoor leisure centres nearby and numerous adventure parks worth a visit if you are feeling active!

Throughout the year there are a range of local festivals which take place at picturesque harbours - you can enjoy local food and wine and share a table with the locals and enjoy the music and dancing. There are also a number of restaurants easily accessible serving amazing local seafood, plus a host of other options ranging from local beef/steaks, to pizza.

There really is something for everyone at Quinquis, and the milder climate makes it a great option for out of season breaks.

The site is under 2 hours drive from Roscoff, 2.5 hours from St Malo, 3.5 hours from Caen, 4.5 hours from Cherbourg and 7 hours from Calais. Flights are also available to Brest (1.5 hours drive), to Renne (2 hours drive) and to Nantes (2.5 hours drive).

We can offer a 10% discount on crossings should you choose to travel with Brittany Ferries.
