Camping Les Dunes
Camping Les Dunes is a modern 4 star camp site next to the beach on the Atlantic coast. The beach has several miles of golden sand that is watched by life guard stations. The campsite is separated from the beach by about 50 metres of sand dunes.
Camping Les Dunes is French owned and managed and most of the holidaymakers are French.
The campsite has just about everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a swimming pool complex with indoor and outdoor swimming pools and water flumes, a
children's play areas and kids club, a five-a-side pitch, volleyball area, table tennis and boules; all available for use without charge. There are also tennis courts that can be used without charge and there is mini golf on site where you have to leave a deposit for the use of the clubs.
By the swimming pool there is a restaurant, bar and take away that does a good selection of food and a plate-de-jour. An on site shop provides fresh vegetables, meat and sundry items, and also bakes fresh bread three times a day.
Local Area
Nearby are the towns of Bretignolles and Brem-sur-Mer. Bretignolles
has a market on Sunday and Thursday mornings. There is also a 'Super-U' supermarket in Bretignolles and Hypermarkets are available further afield in St.Giles and Les Sables d'Olonne.
Locally there is the 'Park de-jeux' that we can only describe as a self-powered amusement park, which is definitely worth a day's visit if you have children.
If you want to get about by bicycle safely, cycle paths run along the coast and through the villages.
