It has two bedrooms, the main bedroom being a double with TV, large wardrobe and en-suite toilet with wash basin. The second bedroom has two single beds and for the odd occasion there is a sofa bed in the lounge.

The lodge is well equipped and the sale comes complete with some great equipment, such as a Nespresso coffee machine (sorry doesn’t come with George Clooney!) and a dishwasher, as well as a picnic basket and some games.

Sitting close to the facilities on site, it’s still far enough away not to be noisy. The pitch is fairly private, being in one corner overlooking woodland.

We have lived in Cornwall for over 20 years, so are able to recommend places to visit, restaurants and events.

St. Ives Holiday Village is in a woodland setting close to St. Ives itself. On site facilities include a restaurant, swimming pool and shop, along with a series of events for adults and families. Under development is a fishing lake and there are plans for spa and new restaurants.

Wi-fi access in the lodge needs to be tethered to your mobile phone at present, although the site hopes to have full access in the near future. Free Wi-fi is accessible in the restaurant and main buildings.

From the site there is a subsidised taxi to St. Ives, as well as a bus in the main season taking you to St. Ives and Penzance. St. Erth railway station is about a mile away, with the branch to St. Ives and great views of the sea and lovely Carbis Bay on the journey.

Places to visit in the area include Helstons Flora Day, Camborne Trethithick Day, the amazing Minack open-air theatre and Land’s End.

A bit further afield is Flambards (great for families), the pretty village of Mullion, The Mounts Bay Inn (renowned for their great food) and Mullion Cove. Truro is great for retail therapy and a must is the magnificent Cathedral. There’s also Falmouth, with its famous nautical pub on the harbour (The Chain Locker) where you can also board a boat trip to St. Mawes.
