Our Willerby Signature, 36’ x 12’ luxury caravan to let on Sandhills Holiday Park is in excellent condition and is within a few minutes walk of the beautiful sandy beach of Whitecliff Bay. A private slipway winds down to the sheltered beach, with Bembridge Ledge to the left and Culver Down to the right.
The Wonky Café is situated at the bottom of the slipway where you are sure to receive a warm welcome from the owners, Pat and Geoff. The café is open every day from 9am to 5pm, with last food orders being taken at 4.30pm - and they have an extensive menu.
Our caravan is fully double glazed and central heated, with a radiator in each room, including the bathroom and en-suite. There is also a gas fire in the lounge.
The main lounge has a large, comfortable, wrap-around seating area, a separate dining area with a table, four chairs and two stools and has the advantage of a sliding door which can shut it off completely from the kitchen. There is a small coffee table, 32” flat-screen TV, DVD player with numerous DVDs available, games and a small assortment of non-fiction books (birds, flowers, Isle of Wight etc). From the large picture window you can watch the passing shipping.
The kitchen is quite unique in that it is a room in itself with a sliding door to the main lounge and a door through to the hallway. Plenty of cupboards hold everything you need for your stay from china, cutlery and glassware to a George Foreman, Nutribullet and food processor for those wishing to make use of the cooking facilities. A full-sized gas cooker with oven, grill and hob, large fridge/freezer, microwave, slow-cooker and pots, pans and bakeware galore.
The hall leads to the bathroom which contains a walk-in shower, WC and wash basin.
The roomy main bedroom boasts a 5’ bed with a luxury mattress, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and many cupboards. Duvet, pillows and extra blankets are supplied as well as all covers and bedding. There is a small TV in the bedroom which plays DVDs (not connected to an aerial). This bedroom has an en-suite WC and wash basin. There is a ‘Henry’ in one of the wardrobes.
The second bedroom has two single beds which, on request, can be put together to form a double bed. We have a double mattress topper (memory foam) if the beds are put together which is placed on top of the two single mattresses to give a more comfortable bed. Again, duvet and pillows are supplied with all covers and bedding (either singles or double). Wardrobe and drawers are also in the second bedroom.
Outside there is decking to the side and front of the caravan together with table and chairs. Parking is available next to the caravan. There is a small barbeque available but it is not to be used on the decking, nor within close distance of the caravan or gas bottles. The side of the caravan enjoys the sun until late evening so is perfect for al fresco dining and BBQs.
All bedding is supplied together with a number of kitchen towels (tea towels). We ask that you bring your own beach towels, bath towels and hand towels. Alternatively, bath towels and hand towels can be supplied on request for an extra fee.
Although this is a 6-berth caravan, we are only accepting bookings for up to 4 people; as per site rules - couples or families only.
Gas, electricity, water and central heating included in price.
Discounted ferry tickets are available (Wightlink) upon request.
Although the lettings are normally Saturday to Saturday, we are happy to accommodate different times if at all possible. Please contact with details.
BOOKING: A Booking Form and Terms and Condition Form will be sent to you if your dates are available. Your dates will be held temporarily until the completed Booking Form is returned, together with the required non-refundable deposit.
Sandhills Holiday Park is a very private, quiet site set in beautiful countryside. It is privately owned and near to the village of Bembridge on the Eastern coast of the Isle of Wight.
There is a reception/shop in the middle of the site which offers groceries, newspapers and an assortment of gifts and beach toys. There is also a launderette on site which is token operated (tokens available from reception) and also a children’s play area.
Free wi-fi is available from Sandhills but reception is very limited.
A number of local pubs are within walking distance – The Propeller Inn, Culver Haven and Nab Bar with quite a few located in Bembridge which is only a very short drive away or for the more energetic – a gentle stroll along the coastal path. There are two Co-ops in Bembridge and a large Tesco on the outskirts of Ryde just a ten minute drive away.
The park is ideally situated for walkers as the coastal footpath runs alongside and a view of the chalk path wending its way up Culver Down is visible from the site. The private slipway leads down to a sheltered sandy beach which is perfect for swimming, building sandcastles, crabbing, exploring rock pools or for sunbathing.
Bembridge is believed by some to be the largest village in England and is home to a windmill which was built around 1700. Owned by the National Trust, this windmill is well worth a visit. Bembridge Harbour and the RNLI Lifeboat station are two more local attractions whilst Bembridge Sailing Club and Brading Haven Yacht Club are open to visiting yachtsmen and Seaview Yacht Club is a short ten-minute drive away. In summer, Seaview holds its popular Regatta with many competitions and a stunning firework display to close.
