About the Area
South Bay Holiday Park has an indoor/outdoor heated pool. Other facilities at the Park include: Reception; a clubhouse with bar and entertainment; children's 'Foxy' club; play areas; crazy golf; shop; launderette and lovely walks with sea and bay views.
The nearest beach is a lovely unspoilt cove which is about a 15-20 walk. It does not have any facilities and is accessed by a considerable number of steps, but is a favourite with many. Other beaches with many facilities are a short drive away.
Brixham is a really nice harbour town with many lovely places to eat and is very picturesque. The 'Golden Hind' is displayed in the harbour and weekly pirate days are held in season. Crabbing from the quay is also very popular with all the family.
Paignton is about a 15 minute drive away and is a typical British seaside town with a pier, amusements and lots of places to eat.
Paignton is also the home of the steam railway that goes to Dartmouth. You can also catch the steam train at Churston.
Torquay is across the bay and about 6 miles away but can be reached by ferry at £1.50 per person each way, a bargain for a 30
minute boat trip (each way). Torquay is a cosmopolitan town and has many attractions including the penguins at 'Living Coasts'.
Dartmouth is a lovely town on the River Dart estuary and is well worth a visit.
There is so much to do you will be spoilt for choice!
