Our mobile home is a very special place to us, we refer to it as ‘Our Holiday Cottage’. Yes, it is an older style, it has that homely charm and is always well maintained. It is 35ft. long X 12ft. wide, giving maximum space and comfort. There is a large lounge area where new furniture has been fitted, a kitchen / diner, shower room and separate toilet with hand basins in each. We have 2 bedrooms, the main bedroom has a full size double bed, in the second bedroom there are 2 full length beds which are easily pushed together to form a double bed and a small drop-down bunk that will take a child up to about 8 years of age. In the lounge there is a double pull out bed suitable for guests.

The mobile home is fully equipped for 7 people. We have supplied an inventory of the items you will find, including a gas oven with gas rings, a fridge / freezer and a microwave oven. There is a satellite receiver with UK / Irish Channels on the TV and a CD player.

We ask you to provide your own sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers and towels, however these items can be hired through Siblu.

We provide some sports equipment such as tennis rackets, table tennis and boules. There are also adult bikes for you to use.

Gas, electricity and water are all included and as our gas is supplied by a mains tank we do not have to change gas bottles so hot water is readily available. We also have air conditioning which can heat or cool as required.

Outside

Our plot has its own private garden enclosed with tall hedges. It is situated on a circular pallet a unique way to Les Charmettes, giving us a cul-de-sac with no through traffic. It is a perfect position for families as we are near a play area (suitable for younger children).

We provide 2 sun loungers, patio table and chairs, a gas barbecue and a parasol. Our terrace is fully covered and can be used completely enclosed as an extra room or with the awnings rolled up providing shade as a garden room.

Entertainment

Siblu provides a jam packed programme throughout the season.

This includes organised sports and tournaments during the day. In the evening there are shows, music and games for all age groups. The entertainment is presented in English as well as French, and many of the staff are bi lingual.

There are 3 clubs for children providing fun and friendship, covering the age ranges from toddlers to teens.

Alternatively you can just chill out away from it all and enjoy a glass of wine and have a barbecue.

Facilities on Site

Les Charmettes is kept in pristine condition. The staff are always friendly and helpful ensuring your holiday is enjoyable.

The Pool Area is wonderful! We haven’t found a site in France to compare with the pool facilities at Les Charmettes. They are clean and safe, with qualified lifeguards on duty at all times, giving you peace of mind whilst your little ones (and not so little) have fun. There is a heated outdoor pool, a heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi, not to mention the splash pools, aqua play areas, and water slides.

Other facilities include Tennis Courts, Table Tennis, Crazy Golf, Volley Ball, Football, Boules, an All Weather Multi Sports Pitch and a Gymnasium
Archery, Amusements, Pool Table, Satellite TV in the Bar, Indoor Entertainment Hall, Restaurant, Fast Food Take-Away, Creperie, Ice Cream parlour, Supermarket, Laundrette, Hairdresser and Beauty Salon and Bike Hire.

There may be a charge for some of the activities.

Fun Passes

In order to access the main entertainment and swimming area each person is required to have a Fun Pass (including children over 4 years of age). These can be purchased through Siblu at reception or with a discount on line. We may be able to offer you 2 adult pass if your booking is for 2 weeks or more during the high season.

The Area

Les Charmettes is a well -designed 4 star site, situated on the West Coast of France in the Charente Maritime region, close to the town of Royan. It is located between the small village of Les Mathes and the seaside resort of La Palmyre.

Because of its beautiful sandy beaches, warm climate and towering pine trees this area is a favourite holiday destination for the French, and one of their best kept secrets. The site is ideally situated to explore the beautiful sandy beaches along the Atlantic coast, or for a leisurely ride through one of the many forest cycle paths.

Visiting La Palmyre Zoo is a must for all the family. There is the lovely ancient city of La Rochelle, the towns of Saintes and Cognac with all their history or distilleries to explore. We love frequenting the local markets and visiting the typical French villages near here such as Talmont and Brouage or taking a trip to one of the Islands such as Ile d’Aix.

There is a beautiful golf course at Royan with manicured greens, they also have a 6 hole course ideal for beginners, and there is a 9 hole course at Les Palmyer. Near the site are Quad biking, Pony and Horse Riding and an Aerial Assault Course. In short there’s plenty to see and do off site.

We can offer you advice on travel and routes around bottle necks during the summer season. We also offer discounts on our available prices for bookings of 2 weeks or more. Contact us for details of discounts and deposits. If required we do let the mobile home from mid-week dates, as ferry crossings can be more convenient.
