About the Area

Burghead is a busy working harbour and a short walk from Burghead Beach Caravan Park. The town has 3 pubs, which all serve food, a supermarket, Post Office, chemist and a cafe.
A little further on and you will find the remains of the ancient Pictish fort of Burghead perched on the headland, offering beautiful views out to sea. An interesting, free, museum gives an insight into how the fort once was.

Take some time to relax on the beautiful sandy beaches, or for the more active Roseisle Forest has a network of walks and cycle paths to suit all tastes. A Walk to Findhorn Bay (11km away) can be done along the shore or through the forest. Beautiful views can be seen walking along the coastal paths from Burghead. A circular walk to Hopeman and back is approximatel 9km, but the walk can be extended to finish at Lossiemouth some 15km away. On the way look out for seals, dolphins, cormorants and many other birds.

Golf courses abound all along the Moray coast and the Spey valley; the closest ones to Burghead being Kinloss and Hopeman.

If you like a dram why not follow the malt whisky trail through Moray, visiting the likes of Glen Moray (Elgin), Glen Grant (Rothes) and Aberlour.
