About the Area
Our mobile home is situated on a peaceful site with views of the foothills of the Pyrenees and Mt Canigou, snow capped for most of the year. It is within easy reach of Argeles plage, the picturesque old town of Argeles and only 25minutes drive from Perpignan airport.
A beautiful swimming pool, with ample sunbeds and jacuzzi are on site, with a splash pool for the children. Restaurants, bars and shops are all within walking distance and there are regular soirees with dancing and BBQ on site in July and August.
About Argeles
Argeles is situated on the Mediterranean, just 30 minutes drive from the Spanish border. The area enjoys approximately 300 days of sunshine a year and the resort has the Pyrenees and Mt Canigou as a back drop to the the miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches.
From June to September the town and plage are alive with with street markets, Catalan dancing displays by the beach and port, circus, funfairs, dancing, disco and casino, and so much more. For those who want peace and quiet there are many places just to relax and watch the world go by.
A beautiful tree lined promenade takes you from the beach to the magnificent port where you can sit and enjoy a meal or a drink at one of the many bars and restaurants that surround the harbour, while enjoying the fantastic views.
If you prefer a more active lifestyle, there is a diving school based at the port and on the beach there are boats and wind surfers for hire. Lakes and rivers are nearby for fishing, or take a drive in to the foothills for rambling, paragliding or horse riding in beautiful surroundings.
Argeles Plage and village have an abundance of eating places, from pizzerias, to that special restaurant. You will be spoilt for choice.
The Surrounding Area
Just one and three quarter hours driving take you into the ski resort of Font Romeu, which has all the winter sports you could want, or drive into the Spanish border towns of Jonquera or Pertus and take advantage of the low prices of many goods, including alcohol and tobacco.
The old town of Ceret is about a 20 minute drive inland where the buildings in the town are fascinating, and the cherry trees that blossom in the spring are a sight to behold. Take a visit to it's modern museum, or try the Salvador Dali museum at Figures which is less then an hour's drive away
