About the Area

Our static home is only a few miles from the village of Dunbeath; birthplace of writer Neil Gunn. It has a Heritage Centre, beach, harbour, play park, pub and restaurant, shop, Post Office, Laidhay Museum and café.

We are only a short drive from John O'Groats, which is the northernmost village in Scotland. From here there are day trips to and from the Island of Orkney.

We are also a short drive south from Helmsdale, which has a time span museum and another great restaurant, 'La Mirage.

There are plenty of other places to visit locally, and there is a distillery a short drive away too. We have lovely scenery around us with red dear on the hills out the back, and the Duke of Kent`s memorial only a short walk away, with stunning views over the Berriedale Loch, which has a picnic area, and is great for hill walking.

We have four highland cows, which are lovely to look at and very interesting to watch, along with sheep and hens. We also have an enclosed play area for kids with a trampoline and swings etc. as well as a small BBQ with picnic table and garden area.
