About the Area
The caravan is situated in the best plot on the park - at the start of a quiet crescent near to the entrance and facilities, but with its own parking space and a huge green to the side. The caravan is a couple of hundred yards from a sheltered sandy beach, where there is a lovely cafe right on the beach, serving locally caught fish as well a range of other foods.
The Naze itself, a short walk along the beach, is a nature reserve of outstanding beauty with fantastic views and wildlife and one of the most important fossil sites in the UK. The 137 foot Napoleonic Naze Tower is open to the public, offernign panoramic views and is also a gallery of local art.
Walton has the second longest pier in England and is a five minute walk from the park. It has a full fairground with rides for children and adults, as well as a soft play centre and bowling alley with 10 lanes. There are the usual assortment of amusements and ice cream parlours, as well as a lovely pool with flume, in this friendly little seaside town.
Walton Backwaters, seal trips around Horsey Island. Take a boat trip on the backwaters, a setting for some of Arthur Ransome's Swallows and Amazons Adventures and look out for the seals around Horsey Island.
Colchester Zoo is a short drive away.
The caravan site has excellent facilities with a lovely indoor pool, cabaret at least three times a week and daily children's entertainment. Passes to the site's facilities can be arranged.
