About the Area

Located at Vias-sur-Mer in the beautiful Languedoc region of France on the Mediterranean French coast. To get your bearings we are about 12 miles away from Bezier and 40 miles from the nearest major airport at Montpellier, Carcassonne or Perpignon. The nearest airport is 4 miles from the park at Beziers with regular flights operated by Ryanair from both Luton & Bristol.

The mobile home is situated on a large 4 star siblu Park called La Carabasse near to Vias Plage. The park is a very active park and there are lots of activities and things to do both on the park, or nearby for all the family to enjoy. The local sandy beach with gentle waves is about a 10 minute walk.

There are good road links so you will be able to explore this beautiful part of France easily by car. How about a boat trip along the Canal du Midi which takes about a 10 minute walk to get there. Otherwise enjoy the onsite and local activities & attractions. Best of all enjoy the French Coast, relax in the sun by the Mediterranean sea on the wonderful sandy beaches.

La Carabasse

La Carabasse offers a wide range of leisure facilities. The majority of things are open from mid April to mid September.

Leisure & Entertainment:- There is plenty for all the family to do on the park in the daytime or at night. In the daytime while the adults relax and soak up the sun by the heated pool (26 degrees)** the children of all ages can enjoy the pools or the waterslides. Children from ages 1 to 14+ can be entertained** all day by the onsite kids club entertainers. Activities include, Multi-sports pitch for ball games, Football coaching*#, Tennis*, Table Tennis***, Bicycle Hire*, Trampoline*#, Crazy Golf*, Volleyball, Boules***, Aerobics**#, Archery*#, Pool tables*.

At night you can have a drink or a meal at the Atoll Bar and Restaurant or from June enjoy the Archipel Bar while being entertained by the onsite staff or local entertainers. There are arcade machines* at each of the locations to keep the kids entertained. If you don't feel like cooking there is a takeaway or Pizzeria (June - Sept) available at the Atoll Restaurant or sit in and enjoy many local cuisine's. If you do feel like cooking everything you need is available from the small onsite Supermarket with its own bakery and why not use the barbecue provided.

The Beach:- Vias Plage - La Farinette

The local beach Vias Plage (½ mile from site or a 10 minute walk) is a long sandy beach with gentle waves. You can access the beach by turning left out of the main entrance and follow the main street to the end. This part of the beach can be a popular location and can get crowded at times due to being close to the commercial area. La Carabasse has its own Beach Club with a bar, restaurant, ice-cream and on site car park available. If you want a quieter beach you can leave the site by foot through the rear gate which will take you to the other end of the beach. It will take you about a 15 minutes walk, the beach is just as good just a lot quieter.

If you don't fancy walking to the beach there is parking available. If you are prepared to drive and want to explore a few miles up or down the coast there are plenty of beaches to choose from so you can find one that suits your own needs. There are many Watersports and leisure activities available at some or all local beaches including Waterskiing, Windsurfing, Sailing and pedalo hire. See on site Tourist Office for where to go for the best activities.

Shopping:- Available shops on site include a small well stocked Supermarket with its own bakery, butchers, grocers & newsagent with English and French newspapers. There is also a gift shop selling souvenirs and beach-ware. A small walk adjacent to the entrance leads to the main street with a wide variety of small gift shops, wine sellers, bars & restaurants. However there are large Hypermarkets within a short driving distance.

The Hypermarkets are huge indoor shopping complexes with a variety of clothing, electrical, music and of course a wide range of food and non-food items. The local town Vias is about 1 ½ miles away and has a twice weekly market selling local fresh produce which is well worth visiting.

Funfair :- Is open through July & August and is located about ½ mile from the site. As fairs go there is plenty for everyone of all ages to do. Definitely worth going on the rollercoaster and if you're not scared of heights, the viewing tower is well worth it. Watch out for local notices advertising half price evenings.

Horse riding:- Local stables next to the fairground. For more experienced riders you can go on a hack to the beach in the early evening and Gallop along the sandy beach. French horses ride differently compared to English horses be careful. The stable also has a cowboy style horse show.

Aqualand:- Well worth the drive to Agde which is about 8 miles away. This is a water theme park that will keep you entertained all day. Just take your swim suit and a towel and don't forget the waterproof sun cream.

Canal du Midi:- The canal is about a 10 minute walk away and is ideal to take a stroll, cycle along or take a day trip on a boat.

Go-Karting:- NUMBER ONE Go-Karting at La Tamarissiere which is about 6 miles away towards Agde. They have 2 circuits one for the Juniors with some dual seat karts and one for the real racers.. Definitely one for the boys but they also allow girls on the track too!

Carcassonne:- The largest walled medieval city in Europe. Well worth the 60 mile trip to see this wonderful sight. Within the walls there are many small shops, restaurants and even a hotel. Some people still live within the boundaries of the castle. There are jousting tournaments and firework displays at certain times. Pick up a leaflet at the on site tourist office.

Montpellier:- This historic city is about 40 miles to the East along the Autoroute. Take the exit where you see B&Q and follow the signs for the Park & Ride. The Tram takes you into the heart of the city where you will enjoy many sites, restaurants or just shop.
