Caravan Description
Our lovely modern mobile home is situated on a large very private plot at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, yet it is just under a 5 minute walk from the pools, bar, sports pitch and restaurant. It is situated in the 'Les pins' part of the park.
Our pitch benefits from both full sun and some shade. There is a very private patio area to the rear of the mobile. The large deck is half shaded half in sun.
The mobile home is categorised in the Siblu Excellence range. It is fitted out to a very high standard with heaters in all rooms.
There are 3 bedrooms; one with a double bed, one with 2 single beds, and the third with 3 single beds (very handy for extra storage space). All bedrooms have blackout blinds and blackout curtains.
The lounge area can also be made into a very large double bed. It is decorated in bright modern colours. There is a TV with all UK Freeview channels (UTV, BBC etc.). There are also lots of books, games, beach toys etc. for your use.
There is a shower room with wash hand basin and a separate toilet.
The mobile home has high quality kitchen supplies for 8 people, i.e. cutlery and plates, plenty of cooking utensils and dishes, toaster, kettle, slow cooker, blender, large fridge freezer etc. and 4 ring gas cooker with grill and oven.
Outside there is a covered deck with wooden seating and table, enabling all meals to be taken al fresco, enjoying the birds song and being surrounded by nature. There is also a large patio area with 2 loungers as well as a gas barbecue, rack for 5 bikes and a parking space.
As our pitch is in the ' les pins' area occupiers of mobiles here have direct vehicle access to Ave Valentin making the drive and/or cycle to the beach much quicker.

About the Area
Le Bois Dormant is generally regarded as one of the best holiday parks in the Vendée, with excellent facilities and a great atmosphere on site.The sister site of Le Bois Masson is just across the road, and has a completely different personality. This means you get the best of both worlds, as if you stay at Le Bois Dormant you can still use all the facilities of Le Bois Masson (pools, kids clubs, fitness room, sauna, steam room) and vice versa. Bike rental is offered on park.
At Le Bois Dormant a long winding road leads you to a very French style pool complex, there are two large pools, one heated. New for 2017 there is a large indoor/outdoor pool which is suitable for use in all weathers as the roof may be pulled back or remain closed on cooler weather. There is a jacuzzi area in this pool. There is also a separate childrens pool and there are 2 large different water slides also.The restaurant and bar terrace are located overlooking the pool allowing family lunches and dinner to be enjoyed in a shaded outdoor area. New summer 2017 there is a fantastic outdoor stage area to enjoy shows from.
The Park is sandy with a feeling of being spacious and relaxed, The park staff make you feel that nothing is too much trouble. There is an abundance of excellent lifeguards at the swimming pools.
There are three children's clubs, for children ranging from 1 year old up to 14/16 year olds, which meet 2/3 times a day, 6 days per week. These clubs are great for providing the space for children to meet up, do some fun activities and make some new friends of varying different nationalities.
The park also has a large multi-sports pitch with football and basketball. Many children on the site, especially during the high season, gather here each afternoon for a game of football. There are also Two large inflatable play areas for the little ones.
There are activites both sporting ( water volleyball, darts tournaments, fitness classes etc.) and entertainment (live shows, singing cabarets, quiz nights) to suit all ages.
The Surrounding Area
The Vendee region has a micro climate equaling the south of France in terms of temperatures and hours of sunshine. Thus one can enjoy the benefits of a Mediterranean climate without the long drive south..St Jean de monts benefits from long stretches of safe sandy beaches; ideal for all. The beach is a 10 minute bike ride away through the cycle paths in the forests.
The coastline is enhanced by the proximity of pine forests, organized paths for cycling or walking and the blue skies, blue shutters on houses with orange roofs are a feature of the Vendee countryside. There are miles and miles of stunning sandy beaches patrolled by lifeguards.
There are also some excellent golf courses in the area, including a wonderful links course just down the road in St Jean de Monts. There are some fun themed mini golf courses too or a host of other activities including horseriding, cycling, boating, quad biking, water parks, climbing, fishing and many more to be found in the towns of St Jean, Notre Dame de Monts, Noirmoutier, St Gilles Croix de Vie and Sables d'Olonne.
The adventurous can venture further afield to enjoy the spectacular presentations at Puy de Fou, visit one of the beautiful islands L'Ile d'Yeu, L' Ile de Re or across the causeway to Noirmoutier Island or the pretty inland villages of Sallertaine, Soullans and Coex to name but a few.
Eating out presents only problems of choice as there is a huge selection of restaurants, most of which do a fixed price menu which is great value. There is an abundance of delicious seafood. Or if you don't fancy that there is a market in the village every day selling all sorts of delicous foods or Super U and Lidl are a short bike ride away. There are also open air markets (twice weekly in the town) where you can buy everything from wine to artwork!
Staying in Le Bois Dormant offers a holiday that truly ticks all the boxes for everyone.
