Silecroft Holiday Park is an exclusive site overlooking Black Combe and in the distance, the mountains of the Southern Lake District. The caravan is sited 500 yards from a safe sand and shingle beach - winner of the 'Green Flag' award for its cleanliness.
Close to the small town of Millom, Silecroft Holiday Park offers full facilities including heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, laundry room and
games area. New this season - internet access available in Reception area. Golf and pony trekking are available nearby.
Local Area
It is ideally placed for touring the Lake District and adjoining areas such as Coniston, Bowness, Hawkshead (location for Renee Zellweger "Miss Potter"
film), Wastwater, Grasmere, Ambleside, Wasdale and The Duddon Valley; and attractions such as Holker Hall, South Lakes Animal Park at Dalton-in-Furness, Barrow-in-Furness Dock Museum, Keswick Pencil Museum and Theatre-by-the-Lake, Furness Abbey at Barrow, small-gauge railway at Ravenglass (L'ile Ratty), Muncaster Castle, Sellafield Visitor Centre etc.
There are good shopping centres at Whitehaven, Workington and Carlisle and historic and quaint towns such as Cockermouth, Ulverston, Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale.
Silecroft Beach is famed for sea fishing and there is also a local fishing club. The village of Silecroft itself, three-quarters of a mile away, has a pub serving good food and a Post Office.
Millom is four miles away, with small shops, take-away restaurants including Thai and Italian, folk museum, tourist information centre, park with tennis courts, putting green etc. Water skiing is available at Port Haverigg, one mile from Millom.
Both Silecroft and Millom have a railway station.
