Local Area
Perranporth is ideally situated for visiting all that Cornwall has to offer - beautiful, ancient, mystic and interesting places and things. Being bounded by sea on three sides, you will never run out of beaches to explore. There are secret coves, tiny fishing villages, caves, smuggler's cottages, and castles all waiting to be explored.
Take a day trip to the Eden Project or Lands End. Perhaps go and explore the beautiful Lizard and stunning Kynance Cove, or Church Cove where there is nothing but sea, sand, cliffs and a tiny little church on the edge of the beach!
Visit the glorious Roseland peninsular with its green hills rolling down to the sea, white sandy beaches, round houses, ancient churches and lovely St.Mawes with its castle (Built by Henry VIII) perched on the edge of the sea. Take the car to the Roseland across the picturesque waterways of the Carrick Roads via the King Harry Ferry - it won't just be the children who'll love the experience!
Take boat trips, visit St.Michael's Mount, Rick Stein's Padstow, The Owl Sanctury, Goonhilly, the fishing village of Mevagissy, Penzance, the artist's favourite St.Ives, a cider farm, Daphne de Maurier country - the Helford River and Frenchman's Creek, Dairyland, Pendennis Castle and the old and unspoilt port of Falmouth with its many interesting shops and narrow alleys running down to the harbour, Flambards, the city of Truro with it's cathedral, and much, much, much more.....
Eat pasties, eat sandwiches bulging with fresh crab, eat cream teas with locally made strawberry jam and clotted cream, eat fish fresh from the sea....
You most certainly will not be able to fit everything into one holiday and you most probably won't want to - leaving yourself an excuse to return to lovely Cornwall next year. Please do - you will be most welcome.
