Minehead is the perfect place from which to explore the South West Coastal Path, Exmoor, and the surrounding area.
The town centre has a wide choice of pubs and restaurants, all within walking distance of Butlins. For a very good carvery or pub meal, and
excellent play area for the kids, we recommend the Hairy Dog on Minehead High Street. Nearby Mullions Restaurant serves an excellent A La
Carte menu and offers a very warm welcome.
For sports fans, the Queens Hall pub on the promenade has a 26 foot TV screen and shows all the major events. It also serves food and has a
children's play area downstairs to keep the children occupied during the match.
The town centre has a good selection of shops and there is a large market behind the steam railway station twice a week during the high
season.
Of course there is also a beautiful sandy beach on the doorstep.
If you want to travel further afield, there are lots of places to visit, including:
- Tropiquaria
- West Somerset Steam Railway
- Cheddar Gorge
- Cleeve Abbey
- Golf course - next to the Resort (discounted fees for Butlins guests)
- Dunster Castle
- Horse-riding across Exmoor
- Porlock Hill and Village
