The site is situated in the very historic area, Battle being only a short distance (1066 William 1) and Bodiam Castle which is one of only a few complete medieval castles still standing. Great Dixter for all the gardening enthusiasts.

In the immediate vicinity there are shops, a supermarket, cafe and public house serving excellent food. The local area also boasts excellent coarse fishing and there is also charter sea fishing locally (Rye and Hastings).

There are two large areas of natural conservation; ideal for bird watching, and there is also numerous cycle tracks along costal areas. Public golf courses can also be found in the area, as well as established private courses.
