Our caravan is situated in a good position near to the children's play area with
parking next to the caravan.
On site is "The Dolphin club" which serves meals and snacks and has regular light
evening entertainment and also has a children's room. Also on site is a launderette,
shop, telephone box and post box.
This private estate includes part of the Winterton Great Valley, a site of special
scientific interest, and over forty acres of rolling sand dunes and a fine sandy beach.
Through the valley towards Winterton-on-Sea, people can walk and enjoy peaceful
surroundings to the Nature Reserve, which extends for miles up the coast.
The beach, valley and dunes with their numerous interesting features, combine to make
this an outstanding leisure area, within easy reach of the amusements at Hemsby Gap.
There is also a heated swimming pool within one mile of Long Beach.
Places of Interest to Visit include:
Hemsby Gap (1 mile) - A comfortable resort with plenty of attractions for young and old,
with amusement arcades, restaurants, cafes, shops, fun fair, heated swimming pool,
regular market and boot sales. Minimal walk to the beach.
Great Yarmouth (5 miles) - Large popular seaside resort with numerous attractions including
summer shows, fun fairs, market, model village, bowls,
putting greens, swimming pool, circus, many museums,
shopping centre and much more! Shipping can be seen in the
busy harbour.
Lowestoft and Oulton Broad (18 miles) - Interesting seaside resort, quieter than Great
Yarmouth with a fishing port, sandy beaches and the only
Norfolk Broad in Suffolk! Also home to Woody Bear at the
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park.
Norwich (18 miles) - Capital of East Anglia with many beautiful historic buildings and
quaint medieval streets, Norwich Castle and dungeons, Norman
Cathedral, large market and excellent shopping centres. There is also a
dry ski slope, availble by appointment.
Norfolk Broads - Ormesby, Filby, Hickling, Wroxham and others are all within easy reach.
Boats can be hired by the hour or day and boat tours are also
available as are fishing and sailing.
