Burghead Caravan Park
Burghead is a small picturesque fishing port, one of many dotted around and overlooking the beautiful Moray Firth. Burghead is a quiet, friendly place with a beautiful sandy beach and is a haven for wildlife. The village boasts a pictish fort and pictish well, thought to be a baptismal well.
The weather in this particular part of the east coast of Scotland is surprisingly mild in winter and absolutely gorgeous in summer. Wildlife abounds and minke whales, porpoises, dolphins and sea lions can be spotted from the harbour.
The caravan park is adjacent to lovely forest walks and the beach. On the woodland walks, red squirrels, owls, rabbits, red deer and little creatures
such as frogs and newts can be seen. Doggy heaven.
A family friendly golf course (with cafe) is situated about 2 miles from the caravan and fishing from the harbour is very popular. The 'Brochers' (folk of Burghead) have a claim to fame in that they celebrate their New Year on 11th January, the pictish New Year. The New Year starts with the burning of the Clavie, and from then on it is fun, fun, fun. A must for everyone. A bright light in a dull January!
Burghead is within easy access of the city of Elgin, town of Forres (both within a 7 mile radius), and the City of Inverness, which is beside Loch Ness, is some 34 miles away. Go Loch Ness Monster (Nessie) spotting!
On Burghead Caravan Site 24 hour CCTV is in operation and Helen, our Site Manager, will help with any queries. Laundry facilities are available on site with large, state of the art, washing machines and an industrial tumble dryer, plus ironing facilities.
