Then there is the lounge, with dining table and four chairs, very comfortable seating plus a separate armchair opposite. The brand new Freeview TV sits on a swivel table. There is a DVD player, DVD's, radio, books, games and jigsaws. There is also an efficient gas fire.

Another door opens out from the lounge on to the decking which is accessed by steps from the ground.

The caravan is carpeted throughout (bathroom included) except for the kitchen floor.

There are two oil filled radiators which can be moved to wherever you want them!

The caravan is equipped with all you would want to make your holiday comfortable. The beds have duvets, mattress protectors, covers over the pillows, but please bring your own duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases, towels and tea towels.

There is a washing line behind the caravan and clothes pegs are provided.

Heating and cooking is by Calor gas, which is included in the price along with elctricity and water.

Sandhills Holiday Park

Sandhills Holiday Park is 2 miles from Bembridge. It has its own safe sandy beach accessed by a steep road and there are two cafes on the beach where meals can be eaten in or taken away.

Sandhills has a shop open from April - September which sells provisions, plus tokens for use in the launderette. There is also a children's play area, a post box and a public telephone.

Running along the front of the Park is the coastal footpath, ideal for walkers who can walk up to Culver Cliff and beyond. There is a public house on the top where glorious views of Sandown and the mainland can be had.

Around & About

Bembridge Airport is close by, where you can sit and watch the planes coming and going from the Propellor Inn which is situated on the site.

The nearest car ferry to Sandhills is Fishbourne, a 40 minute crossing from Portsmouth. The other car ferry is at East Cowes, where the ferry crossing is 55 minutes from Southampton.

For shopping, there is an excellent Tesco at Ryde, a Morrisons at Lake, and in Newport there is an M & S, Morrisons and Sainsbury's, with a newly opened Sainsbury's Local in Sandown.

There's plenty to do whilst on the Island; nearby is Sandown Zoo, the Dinosaur Museum and Brown's Putting and Pitch & Putt. There's also Blackgang Chine Theme Park, Robin Hill Adventure Land, Donkey Sanctuary at Wroxall, the steam trains at Havenstreet, ice skating at Ryde, speedway at Smallbrook on Tuesday evenings, Waltzing Waters Show at Ryde, Butterfly World at Wootton, as well as two vineyards to visit and lots of car boot sales throughout the week.
