Burghead Beach Holiday Park
Burghead Beach Holiday Park has a laundry room and there is a small children’s play area.
Burghead was once a busy fishing port - the harbour can be seen from the entrance of the caravan site and there are wonderful views over the Moray Firth to the coastline of the North of Scotland.
You can walk for several miles along the sandy beach, or rock pool on the ‘back beach’ which is situated on the other side of the village, 5 minutes walk from the caravan site. There is a path here, which takes you out of Burghead. You can follow this to lovely coves and on past the village of Cummings ton and then to Hopeman.
Wander into the village (just a few minutes walk) and you will find three pubs, where you can have lunch, afternoon tea and an evening meal. There is a post office (get there early and try our local morning 'rollies' and tasty bread for breakfast!), a small supermarket, chemist and library on the main street of the village. At the top of the village is its look out post; from here you can catch site of seals, porpoises and a variety of sea birds.
There is a wonderful horse riding centre a short drive from Burghead. Elgin is a ten minute drive, or you can catch a bus. Here you will find a good selection of shops, restaurants, supermarkets, cinema, bowling alley, swimming pool, museum and several points of interest.
Morayshire is a beautiful county, and Burghead is a wonderful place to base yourself whilst you explore the area. Or, you may find yourself so relaxed that you won’t want leave the village!
