A quality Futon to pull
out, a double bedroom with king size bed and a smaller bedroom with 2 single
beds. The bathroom has a power shower and toilet.
We have a large decking area where you can enjoy the views; you can enjoy
watching ships pass by, fishermen, pleasure craft, Naval vessels and the
Condor ferry which passes daily.
The Air-sea Rescue helicoptor Whiskey Bravo
can often be seen passing by. There is also an enclosed patio area with a
rotary clothes line.
There are beautiful walks around the banks ideal for dog walking or just for
pleasure. It is possible to walk right round Portland.
The site is very quiet and elite. It has a small games room, laundrette and
shop. If you're looking for a nice quiet, peaceful holiday then this is it!
The local shops are about a mile away and buses stop outside the site
entrance to go to the Bill or Weymouth. Church Ope Cove, which we overlook,
is a favourite with swimmers, skin divers and beach fishermen and it is very
enjoyable to watch the activities from the decking area.
Weymouth has many attractions for young and old and is about 7 miles away.
Along Chesil Beach Rd (the only road on and off the island) you can watch or
partake in water sports such as wind surfing etc. Portland is famous for its
Portland stone, the prison with its wonderful views, Pennsylvania castle,
Rufus Castle with its coloured lights display (visible from the caravan) and
Portland Bill with the famous lighthouse and also the old lighthouse which
is now a bird observatory. The Coastguard Watch station is on constant
lookout for ships in trouble and is another attraction.
