About The Area
Christchurch has a market every Monday. A little further away brings you to Castle Point - one of the largest shopping precincts in the region. Or if you want to travel further away take a trip to Bournemouth with its many major stores and boutiques.
Christchurch is a picturesque market town with some history worth exploring (its not just shopping!). Take a walk to view the 11th century Priory, 14th century Old Court House, and Highcliffe Castle.
For evening entertainment there is a theatre and cinema in Christchurch, and of course in Bournemouth is the Pavilion Theatre and several main cinemas showing the latest movies.
At Christchurch Quay you will find one of the best waterside cafes in the region - sit and eat while watching the swans drift by.
Avon beach is a soft sandy child friendly beach with bathing huts lining the shore. Canoes and deck chairs are available for hire. Mudeford beach has a sandy beach and is an important wildlife reserve.
Hoburne is a 5 minute drive from the unspoilt New Forest area, with its wonderful walks and pretty villages such as Lymington, Burley, Lyndhurst and Beaulieu.
For the more adventurous Paultons Park, Adventure Wonderland Theme Park, and Matchams karting are all a short drive away.
For entertainment and larger shops it is only a short drive (or bus) to Bournemouth where you will find the Oceanarium, award winning beaches, shops and of course the pier.
You can take a ferry from here (or from Poole Quay) to the famous bird reserve of Brownsea Island - definitely worth a trip.
A little further round the coast brings you to the Corfe Castle, unspoilt seaside town of Swanage with the wonderful Purbeck Hills and the South West Coastal Path, and much, much more.
