Enjoy the panoramic sea view from the lounge and bedroom windows, from Blue Anchor beach to Wales across the water, and the wonderful sunsets in the evenings across the beach to Dunster and Minehead.

Man’s best friend is also welcome. Well behaved dogs will enjoy all the surrounding areas and are welcome at no extra cost.

Blue Anchor Beach

Blue Anchor is unspoilt, peaceful and an ideal location for coastal walks, train trips to Dunster, Minehead and Bishops Lydeard, with bus link to Taunton running most of the year. There are also special Steam Gala weekends, which include Thomas the Tank Engine and Santa Specials.

A few minutes walk away from the chalet along the sea front is the Hobourne holiday park, where for a small charge you can use the indoor pool and crazy golf. They also have a children’s play area.

There are two pubs in Blue Anchor; the ‘Smugglers’ and the ‘Blue Anchor Inn’. There is also a café along the sea front called the ‘Driftwood’. They all serve fresh, reasonably priced local food. Blue Anchor also has a small working farm called 'Home Farm' with many animals, farm trail and farm shop.

Local Area

Watchet is only two miles away, home to a marina and many local shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. The Tropiquaria, an animal and adventure park, is also nearby and is fun for all of the family. Historic Dunster village, medieval castle and grounds, is also well worth a visit, and is accessible by costal path or footpath in under an hour from the chalet door.

There are a number of other attractions a short drive away that are certainly worth a visit, which makes this chalet the ideal base for exploring the region.

Minehead, which is a Victorian seaside and harbour town with a sandy beach, has plenty of shops, local market, restaurants, cafés, swimming pool, amusements and Butlins holiday park (which contains a number of amusements, fun fair, shops, restaurants, theatre etc).

Beautiful Exmoor and the unspoilt Quantock hills are close by and ideal for scenic walks with breathtaking views. Porlock, Lynton and Lynmouth are also ideal for exploring with scenic coast views. Taunton, the county town of Somerset, is less than an hour away and provides for shopping, cinema, theatre, railway station and an M5 motorway link.
