Beauport Park
Beauport Estate in East Sussex is set in 1760 acres of rolling countryside and Beauport Park is set in 80 acres of the estate in peaceful sloping woodland.
The numerous varieties of flora found throughout the park are a legacy of the one time owner General Murray, a leading commander under General Wolfe at the Battle of Quebec in 1759. General Murray imported many of the specimens from around the world and these continue to flourish today.
The park is quiet and is made up of mainly privately owned holiday homes. The small clubhouse offers food and occasional entertainment as well as two pool tables. The woodland setting provides opportunities for walking and cycling and at the lower end of the park - you can walk down through the woodland to the valley below.
Hastings and its shops and beach are about 10 minutes away and within the area there are many other coastal and country walks, numerous places of historical interest, fishing and golf. If you intend playing golf I would suggest checking on the internet and then with the clubs directly as each club tends to have its own rules regarding green fees for visiting golfers.
There is a small reception office on site which holds a few ‘emergency supplies’ in a chiller cabinet, e.g. milk, butter, bread plus a few other items. However, for main food shopping there is a large Sainsbury’s supermarket about 4 minutes drive away just off the A21.
