Camping La Pinede
Camping La Pinede is a small 3 star family site, which is very
quiet, situated amongst the vineyards just a stones throw from the Maures Mountains.
There are two swimming pools, one for the adults and one for the infants, both of which
can be covered for use on rainy or windy days. There is also a children's play area, which is fenced
and safe, and a very good restaurant which is open every lunch and evening.
In July and August there is the occasional evening’s entertainment and BBQ.
Camping La Pinede is very quiet and secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the local
traffic and market villages, thus giving you the choice of a very restful holiday or
joining the maddening crowds.
To the beach, it is a mile and a half's walk on level ground or an easy bike ride, which
you hire locally, or by car a 10 minute drive to the nearest parking with direct access to
the beach.
Swimming is very safe with sandy beaches stretching for miles along the coast in both directions.
Local Area
For places to explore why not try St Maxime, a very lively place to go with many cobbled
streets and quaint restaurants which comes to life in the evenings with live music in
most bars. Also here, most nights in July and August, they have an open air theatre or
from here you can take the boat across the bay to St Tropez. Although well known for the
rich and famous stars with their big yachts, it has still managed to keep its original
identity and Provencal traditions with the local markets and festivals. Also see the
local artists at work on the quay side.
The nearest attraction is the little Venice of Port Grimaud where you can take a
leisurely walk around its canals and waterways offering an assortment of restaurants and
even a market on a Sunday morning. Just 5 minutes walk from the village of Port Grimaud
you will find the lively Irish bar Monroe's where at a weekend they have a live music. The
food is excellent and good value for money and the best offer of the day is between 7.30
and 8.30 every evening - Happy Hour, and providing that you go to the bar and collect
your own drinks, they are half price. You can get a good local red rose or white wine for
5€ a bottle, and they also sell lager and Guinness by the litre.
The immediate local areas have much to offer, the old village of Grimaud is packed with
history. There is also a typical village square where you can laze and have a morning
coffee.
