Outside there is a decked terrace, which is partially covered to provide some shade, with table and chairs for 'al fresco' dining. There is also a small garden area and a parking place.
La Carabasse
La Carabasse is a very popular site situated approximately 500m from sandy beaches on the Mediterranean coast. The beaches are an easy walk either along the road, which has shops, bars, cafés and restaurants to the main area, or along a footpath to where La Carabasse Beach Bar has food, drink and some water sports that are available in high season.
On site there is a swimming pool with a children's section, a seperate toddler's paddling pool and waterslides with lifeguards on duty at all times. Overlooking the pool area is a bar, café, games room and the stage where, during the main season, there is entertainment every night. There are Children's clubs for 3 different age groups which will keep the kids entertained throughout the day.
Also on site is the reception, with friendly helpful staff, a shop, launderette, tennis courts, petanque pitch and another bar and a restaurant, from which take away pizzas are available.
Locally
Vias is a typical small French town, steeped in history. It has a central market square, bars, a few shops, restaurants and a twice weekly market. The Canal du Midi passes close by crossing the Herault river at the nearby larger town of Agde, which has buildings dating from the 14th Century. A little further on the modern resort of Cap d'Agde, where there is a Waterpark, is also worth a visit.
For those who want to venture further afield, La Carabasse is well placed to explore the Languedoc region of France, It's about 1½ hours drive to the 'Haute Languedoc', an area of beautiful countryside with gorges, caves, lakes, lovely villages and fantastic views. The ancient walled city of Carcassone, the Roman Aqueduct at Pont du Gard, and the Carmague, famous for pink flamingos, white horses (which are born black), black bulls and which also has the medieval walled city of Aigues-Mortes, are all near enough for a day trip.
