Owner's Description

Our mobile home is situated in a peaceful, pleasant part of the site in a private garden, bordered by attractive laurel hedging. The grassed garden area is fronted by several large shrub bushes and a small off-road parking space.

The garden has all day sunshine and the position of the mobile home has been designed to allow early evening meals to be eaten outside in the sunshine, with the table at the rear of the garden.

Whilst advertised by Haven as an eight berth mobile home, we prefer to keep it to a comfortable six berth, with a proper bedroom for all. The dining area does 'transform' into a double bed, but we prefer to keep things comfortable.

The kitchen and dining room are self-contained separately from the lounge. The dining table comfortably seats six people. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, microwave oven, gas oven and hob, and full kitchen equipment. In the lounge, we have provided a television, which may be used with your own video player should you require at-home evening entertainment, together with a radio cassette player and a fan. There is a gas fire in the lounge, although we have never known this to be used in the summer - with the rare exception of a rainy evening!

There are three separate bedrooms, the largest having a double bed, wardrobe, small dressing table area with mirror, 3 drawer bedside cabinets and above bed cabinets for further storage. The second bedroom is twin bedded, with wardrobe, dividing bedside table and shelf space. This room is equipped for transferring one bed into a baby’s cot (equipment provided), although the lower bed of the bunk bedded third bedroom is ideal for a small child. This room is compact, with cabin style bunk beds that are especially suitable for children. The top bunk has a safety rail, but small children are recommended to use the bottom bunk! This room also has a wardrobe.

Pillows and duvets are provided for your use (one double and four single duvets). Additional blankets can be found in the wardrobes if required. You will need to provide your own duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases, tea towels and towels.

All sockets are English 3 point plug sockets.

The garden is fully equipped with large patio table and eight chairs, BBQ, together with two sun loungers and that all important parasol.

Our mobile home is not on the main thoroughfare, so cars passing at frequent intervals are not a problem. In fact, it is a cul-de-sac with through access only for walkers and bicycles, making it very safe for young children – and delightfully peaceful!

Domaine de Kerlann

This most attractive French site is to be found nestled in the heart of Southern Brittany between picturesque Pont Aven and the colourful fishing port of Concarneau. Unlike many English sites, this one is laid out with trees, hedges, shrubs of all different kinds - and gardens. In short, it is a riot of colour and greenery all year round, but especially during the summer months when so many of the lovely, and often exotic, shrubs and flowers are in bloom.

Just a short drive from the wonderful scenery of Breton beaches, Domaine de Kerlann can be reached in approximately 1½ hours from the ferry port of Roscoff.

This beautiful corner of France is very reflective of our own Cornish coastline but is traditionally Breton in character. Considerably further south than the Channel Islands, it has a very mild climate, allowing for luxurious, long, hot summer days. The Breton influence is impossible to miss, with the style of the houses and cottages, the artefacts that are on sale in many of the shops, and the beautiful Breton costumes that can be seen worn by the traditional Breton dancers. This is a part of France that is steeped in its own character and tradition.

So close to England – and yet so very far away in atmosphere.

The nature of a self catering holiday allows for relaxation from schedule and organisation. This is a holiday on your own terms – with the benefit of the luxury of eating out at delightful restaurants dotted all around the locality, should you wish! From traditional crèpes to delicious local shellfish (Belon oysters, locally farmed moules, lobster, crab……), to tasty cheeses and tangy local ciders and wines – the choice is endless!

There is never a dull moment at Domaine de Kerlann, should you wish to leave the peace and tranquillity of your own garden. The centre is sufficiently at a distance not to encroach on your peace, but close enough to be only a matter of a short walk away.

The centre features a restaurant, fast food take-away, indoor entertainment ‘hall’ with pool tables and stage, two bars (one pub style), large outdoor patio area with outdoor entertainment stage - where regular nightly attractions take place throughout the summer, such as the traditional Breton evening, and local crèpes can be bought freshly made.

Other amenities include a shop where a good selection of foods can be bought (plus English newspapers), a launderette and a reception area where information on where to go and what to do can be sought.

A beautiful outdoor swimming pool, with a separate toddler pool, has been enhanced by a new indoor complex featuring a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi and water flume, together with an area suitable for the little ones with a mushroom water fountain. All swimming areas are under the welcome gaze of qualified lifeguards. These facilities can be used by non Haven guests at a small charge per person.

Haven provide clubs suitable for a large range of children – starting with a crèche (not included in the cost of the holiday), the Tiger Club which takes place twice daily on most days for the younger children (details on the Haven information), and a club suitable for the teenagers.

Many sports activities are also available (some requiring booking and which are not included in the holiday price), including BMX track, crazy golf, tennis, all weather multi-sports pitch, archery, boules, and advertised fun activities which vary from day to day and week to week.

An experienced and professional team of entertainers are on hand at all times to make the holiday an action packed and fun one – should that be what you seek.

You may prefer to seek your entertainment and fun away from the daily activities of Domaine de Kerlann, and this is an ideal location to choose with a great variety of different beaches to visit and places of interest to see. There are many fabulous beaches and coves to discover and explore, you will soon find your own favourite, be it a wild and scenic stony beach or a lovely sweeping sandy beach. Port Manech is worth a visit – a small sandy beach ideal for bathing or water sports, with its own small bar set back overlooking the beach. There is also a stretch of coastline between Raguennes and Rospico, known as Tahiti beach, with a lovely sandy beach.

Trevignon is well worth a visit, especially at sunset when the views are spectacular and may be seen while taking a stroll along the cliffs, or down among the rocks, or by the picturesque harbour, or over a long drink at one of the roadside cafes.

Eating in France is a very enjoyable past-time and there is a large selection of different styles of French food to choose from. Self catering is fun – especially on long, hot summer days, and lovely warm summer evenings with the BBQ, but it is always lovely to try the local restaurants, of which there are many and varied. You might ask for a French recommendation at Domaine de Kerlann’s reception where they are more than happy to help. Whether your taste is for local crepes or for the delicious seafood that is so readily available, and fresh in local restaurants. Try the amazing fresh fish shop in the square at Nevez for an incredible variety of fish and shellfish.
