The Local Area
Just two minutes drive from Camping Du QuinQuis are good sandy beaches with a choice of rock pools for shrimping or waves for water sports. Take a short drive over the river Laita to Guidel Plage for boat hire, surf shop and surfing beaches.
Many local towns have colourful market days where you can sample local produce before purchase. Pont-Aven, Quimperle and Guidel are well worth a visit. Information on market days is displayed at the reception office.
Well worth a visit in their own right are the towns of Concarneau and Pont-Aven. Concarneau's old walled town is situated on an Island within the modern harbour of one of France's largest fishing ports. Reached by two small bridges, its narrow streets are filled with shops and cafe's.
Pont-Aven, once the home of the artist Paul Gauguin, is a town of clear running streams, water mills and in summer full of flowers. Take your time to browse around the many art galleries.
For something more local visit Doelan, a local fishing harbour and home of the locally brewed cider. Fresh fish can be bought on the quay side or eaten at a river side bar. What better way of watching the sun go down than enjoying a cool glass of local cider at one of the harbour side bars at the end of a summers day.
