The superb air conditioned living accommodation consists of a spacious lounge with a high vaulted ceiling that creates a sense of light and airiness. There is a big three seat settee that converts into a double bed, a large comfortable arm chair, gas fire, radiator, glass coffee table and a LCD TV providing Sky satellite television and a DVD/CD player with a selection of DVDs. Double patio doors lead onto the front deck.
You will be amazed at how fully equipped the kitchen is. It comprises of a dishwasher (dishwasher tablets provided), washing machine (washing detergent provided) a tumble dryer (situated on the side terrace), gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, slow cooker, steamer, electric kettle, toaster and many other items. You will also find a vast selection of crockery and utensils.
Not only do we provide the detergents for the dishwasher and washing machine, we also provide a variety of herbs and spices, dishcloths, bin bags and all cleaning materials.
The dining area has a dining table and six chairs with padded cushions, a child’s highchair, radiator and patio doors leading directly onto the side terrace.
On the fully enclosed side terrace (6 x 3.3 metres) you can enjoy outdoor living throughout your holiday. The three sides of this terrace can be rolled up to enjoy the wonderful sunshine, or if you are unfortunate enough to experience some rain, they can be left down to protect you from the elements. The terrace is equipped with a large dining table and 8 chairs with comfortable cushions and two small drinks tables. There is a cooking area with a small electric oven, a George Foreman health grill with griddle, an additional toaster and an electric coffee machine. Absolutely perfect for cooking, and dining ‘al fresco’ at any time of day.
Here you will also find a chest containing family games, fishing rod, boules, beach tent, parasol, a picnic table and chairs, picnic rug, rucksack and even an electric 12v cool box to pack your picnic in. We have also provided an extensive personal library, three bikes (one ladies and two gents), two golf bags and two golf trolleys.
At the rear of the enclosed terrace is an open two tiered sun deck with two sun loungers and a gas BBQ.
In the hallway you will find a utility cupboard with iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, brooms, mops and buckets etc. There are two clothes airers complete with pegs.
The bathroom has a full sized bath with a thermostatically controlled shower over (eliminating fiddling with the hot and cold supply!), vanity unit and WC and an electric heater. There is also a separate cloakroom with WC, wash basin and electric heater.
The double bedroom is fitted with large wardrobes, bedside tables, and a dressing table with hairdryer. The two good sized twin bedrooms are both suitable for sleeping adults and are both fitted with wardrobes and bedside tables, one containing a second hairdryer. The beds in both of the twin rooms can be pushed together to make doubles. There is a metal frame to convert one of the beds into a cot. All bedrooms are gas centrally heated via radiators. For additional sleeping space the sofa in the lounge area converts to a double bed.
Parking is available at the front for 2 cars and if you are taking your laptop Wi-fi access is available throughout the parc for a small charge.
Les Charmettes Holiday Parc
Les Charmettes Holiday Parc is only 3 miles from the wonderful La Palmyre beach, and has just about everything you could want for a fantastic holiday. A large pool complex with waterslides, flumes and a heated indoor pool, archery, fencing, pony rides and mini golf are just a few of the sporting activities available.
There are day and evening entertainment programmes and clubs for kids. Fun passes to access the entertainment areas can be purchased at Reception.
Also on site you will find a well-stocked supermarket that even stays open at lunch time! If you don’t want to cook there is a fast food takeaway, a restaurant and a creperie.
Local Attractions
Visiting the Zoo in La Palmyre is essential. The nearby Hippodrome, horse racing course is great fun. Children will love the Indian Forest climbing adventure and Youpee Land with its inflatable bouncy toys. For older kids Quad bikes and Karting are a must, as is Luna Park funfair. Visit the Aquarium in La Rochelle or the distilleries in Cognac. For water sport fanatics, boats, jet skies, windsurfers etc can all be hired from La Palmyre marina. These are just a few of the numerous things to do in the area.
